Internet's first get-out-of-debt community - 129,000 members

This number called me today unfourtanetly I was at work and i couldn't answer my phone the number is 310-318-0779 when I called it back the recording said world wide publishers!I am thinking this is like a book company or something I am gonna do some research and check it out!But if anyone finds out anything on this company please let me know!I know it is in california but if anyone has any clue who it is and pulls the information up before I do let me know!I also recieve calls from utah and the number is 801-364-8899 the company says on the recording says consumer first!And i am also recieving calls from 239-274-3309 this is in florida well if any one finds out addresses or information on any of these numbers please let me know it would be well appreciated

The first one sounds like a magazine sales company.

Well the number they called twokidtwocat is my cell phone number and I don't have it on a do not call list!And Ben I am going to research these number's on BBB but this is kinda odd though!

You can, and I would reccommend, including your Cell phone on the DNC list. Do you want to PAY for these peole to try and sell you stuff you probably dont want?

I just got a call from that # now. They said I won something from my credit card company. When I stated that I do not have a credit card (After the lady named them all Visa, MasterCard etc.) she stated that I must have won by using my debit card. She then asked if my debit card has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it. When I said no, she said "oh" and hung up.

Sandy,

Be careful of such calls. The caller always tries to take any personal information from you. They are always looking for ways to get access to your bank account.

So, be firm with what you say and if at all possible, try to avoid such calls.

i got a call from this number may 8 2006 and the person said they were a rep from my credit card company and that they had a reward for me. she then put me on hold, came back and tell me i won a free trip and all i had to do was "review some information on medical insurance" what a great deal .... she told me that i only had to pay for "shipping and handling which they would bill to my card SOMEHOW she already had the last digits of my card with her. i have now canceled that card as i have no idea how they cot my number. pretty shady.

Hi,

I just wanted to post that I just got a call from the 310 number and that when I answered no one spoke so I called it back and it was a recording and I hung up and decided to do some research on the web and I came here.

It is scary to know that they might have my cc information. The only company I gave my cc information and then gave my work number as my number was when I bought something from TV, sounds silly but I bought lipozene.

What can a person do now? If someone is going through this or has had problems with this company, please let me know.

JJ, it sounds that the company is collecting your past debt. Is this company giving you any information in writing about the transaction you did in the past? Normally, you must have something in writing before you make a payment arrangement. This is to make sure that the company is doing a legitimate collection. If you have received nothing in the mail, ask for the details before you make any payment in the future. Make sure that your request is sent through certified mail for records and to prove your past actions.

Hi,

They called me again and they tried to do the "you won a trip" thing that linseed mentioned above.

I told her I don't have a cc and to please stop calling my place of work and then all she said was this is your work? and I said yes and then I hung up.

Should I cancel the cc that I used to buy the lipozene product? I don't have a debt with them, they took it right out of my cc card last month and now these weird calls are starting.

i too have been receiving calls from here at least 3-4 times per week, with no message. I have not answered and do not plan to return the call in fear of my number being added to a data base. Does anyone know who they are or where they get their numbers?
