Someone claiming to be from Paragon just called me and try to tell me that they have a judgment to collect. When I told him that he had to take me to court to get a judgment first, he got all ugly. They took 800.00 out of my bank account on a $200 loan and that was a year ago, now I am getting called about owing them money. Any information anyone has about this company is appreciated.

They are junk debt buyers that violate the fdcpa laws. Send them a debt validation letter certified mail with return receipt and make them validate before you send them a dime. They are a ruthless collection agency that has had many complaints filed against them.

Linda, what is this company trying to collect for. They must send something in your mail before making collections. Do you know the name of the company for which they are calling you? The company cannot have a judgment against you without court orders. Check with your local county office and the latest copy of your credit report to confirm their moves. First Credit of America has been causing problems to many others. Read some of the threads here.

the phone number is 1-877-598-1088. If this isn't the correct number, contact your bank. They will give you the phone number by contacting the issuing bank. In turn, that bank has to supply your bank with the correct phone number.

I have been approved for a 5000.00 loan which would be great for debt consolidation. My interest rate is 7.2% which is also excellent for my credit. They want me to send them 800.00 for collateral and also fax them personal information. I am afraid if I send them 800.00 I will never see the money. Has anyone ever dealt with this company before? This would really help me clean up my credit and help in my hope of buying a house in a year.

Omy, no loan company should ask for money upfront before the loan is deposited in the account. Look for some other company as I vote this company down.

Don't send them any money. We fell for this scam in late Oct 2005 they got us for 800.00. First they said they needed 500.00 in order to buy the insurance coverage on us because of our bad credit. Okay, we sent them the 500.00 with no loan being deposited into our bank. We call them the same day it was suppose to be deposited and they said they needed another 300.00 because our credit was worst than they expected so the insurnce coverage would be higher. We sent it. Day after day the loan never came. We were never able to contact them after we sent them the 800.00 their phone number was disconnected their website was gone. We then went to RipOffReport.com after seeing their name in a search and found out many people were tooken by the same people we did. At the time, we were desperate for a loan so our thinking went out the window. The loss of 800.00 was so devasting on our bank account. We are much wiser now. Don't sent them any thing report them to the BBB with their new address and info. Maybe they can eventually catch up to the people.
