Threatened with harm by Allied Interstate Last NIght

Hi,

I have been receiving phone calls all hours of
the day and night looking for a Thomas Devine.

I was referred to as a "White ****"

I filed a complaint with the FTC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Criminal Division/Attorney General Office. Also they block their lines so that
Verizon cannot trace the call. They also won't give
out their phone number or address.

I have gone online and traced this company to Middle
Eastern Executives. The CEO has his own web page
but will not list his address or phone number.

I am attempting to track them down so that I can
go to the Boston Police-District and County Courts
to file a restraining order against them.

Although I told them my name on six occasions, and
that I was not a man named Thomas Divine, they still
tried to scam me of $342,000.00

I suggest that you try and engage them in conversation
so that you can atleast get an address to get yourself
a restraining order. Also search the web. There have
been many lawsuits.

Has anyone else noticed that they are only targeting white people and the elderly?

Welcome to the forums. Do you know that contacting a wrong person again and again for recovering debt unknown to you is a violation of the fdcpa law? You can file a class action lawsuit against them with the help of a lawyer. You can hire someone who specializes in the lawsuits of FDCPA and FCRA violations.

You can also gather sufficient proof against them by recording all the telephonic conversations with dates and times along with the name of the person who contacted. Inform them that you wish to present it to your lawyer.

I received multiple calls from allied interstate regarding an attempted debt collection on behalf of SBC Ameritech. SBC charged a termination of services fee to me when I cancelled my telephone service because I moved out of state. They claimed that I signed a contract, which I never did, and terminated that contract two months shy of the contract terms. Since I never signed a contract with them, I filed a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection, which is a division of the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Then the phone calls, from Allied Interstate located in Chandler, AZ, began. I not only explained the situation to them, but I faxed them correspondence numerous times advising them that the matter was in the process of being investigated by the State of Wisconsin. On May 11, 2005 I received a call and the man I spoke with was one of the most rude and condescending men I've ever spoken with. He proceeded to threaten me, and told me I was a loser who didn't pay my bills. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel that the way they handle debt collection is completely inappropriate and I didn't deserve to be talked to that way. Know your rights, and document the names and dates of EVERYONE you talk to.

Tomica, also file your complaint against allied interstate at the FTC and the BBB. They will take necessary actions against this company.

Since the people in Allied Interstate are extremely unprofessional, send them a written letter explaining your situation and refuse to be communicated with you.

I too have had a bad experience with allied interstate. I apparently owed money to Proactive due to the fact that they did not credit an order, which I returned to them. The phone number did show up on my caller ID as belonging to Intelirisk. When I told the caller that I would make payment he hung up on me. Three weeks later I received another call. I informed the caller that I had made payment three weeks ago and he hung up on me as well. The next day, my minor daughter received five phone calls from Intellirisk and every single caller hung up on her as soon as she told them I wasn't home. The final two calls just played music in her ear. I called the number on the caller ID and it came back to a fax machine. Using the internet, I was able to nail down a main number to Intellirisk, however, I was told that neither my name, address, social security number nor phone number was in their computer and that the calls must not be coming from me. I received three calls after that. Two hang ups and finally a woman took the time to listen to me. She at least didn't hang up but said I had to send her a copy of my bank statement to prove I paid the bill. I do not want to send them my bank account information! I'm going to file complaints with everyone I can think of.

Don't send your bank statement. Instead, copy of your driving license will prove them contacting the wrong person. Send your letter through certified mail with return receipt requested.

Different addresses to contact Allied have been posted above in this page. Please check the area code from where you are receiving the calls. Send your clarification request and to stop further calls.

You can portray this letter giving the maximum legal importance to it. Inform your hiring an attorney in this case if the calls do not stop after they receive your letter.

Hoping the calls to come to an end after your letter is received by them.

This allied interstate has repeatedly contacted me at work after they were todl to stop. Now they have called and have had the audacity to threaten my children. They knew the names of my kids, their ages, and who I even wokr for. They told me that if they didn't get $1,200.00 by 3:00 today they were going to have me arrested, my children put into foster care and then adopted out, and make me loose my job. My attorney has even contacted them in the past but this still keeps going on. How do I get them to stop? This has left me not only emotionally upset but extremely mad. I don't even owe them or anyone that much money. They claim I took out a loan over the computer in April but I haven't had a bank account since February. How can people sleep at night knowing what they do to people's lives? Does any one have any ideas?

I will suggest you some tips to deal with this problem.

You can start recording the phone calls of allied interstate when they call you next time. If it is not permissible in your state, you can inform the person that the call is being recorded. You will have sufficient proof to file a case against them with your lawyer. They will try to intimidate and scare you to switch off the recording, but you should not get afraid. You can still tell that the call is being recorded.

Send a cease and desist letter to the company explaining the matter that you don't owe them. If they call you after receiving your letter, it is a violating of the fdcpa law and you can take legal actions.

Send your letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will help you to track your letter on the date they received it. After you have sufficient proof against them, you are in charge of filing a case against them.

Do let me know if you face any problems in solving this matter. Hopefully, they should stop after you have made the following moves.

We have been thretened by allied interstate, that we owe a debt to Sears, the amount was $596.00.
We have no account with Sears. We told this man that
called, he insisted we owed this amount and if we didn't pay up they would send it to collections.Then bring legal actions against us. We have had an account in the past but paid it off. We went to Sears, they told us to call City Identy Theft.
That we will do. Where do they get this information.?

Don't get upset. Keep a check on your credit report regularly and see if Allied is putting any negative information in it or not.

I will strongly ask them to send a debt validation of the said account. If an account is really legitimate, then the company should not hesitate in sending the accounts info. Do not get intimidated by them. Face them courageously. You have not done anything wrong. And they just can't make you pay on a debt that you never owed.

You might be sure that any information sent by them as debt validation might be even fake. So, always dispute on it. If you do not dispute and ignore their DV, court will rule in their favor and you might be legally asked to pay it. You will just have to dispute and stay strong.

Send your letter through certified mail and request for a return receipt. This will help you to track down all the correspondence made with them.

how do you stop sears from calling into the night. they call every hour 24/7. even on holidays. my husband is disabled and home all day. and he tells them to send letters and no phone calls but they call with in the hour again.. driving both of us nuts. what can be done to stop the calls

Send them a letter saying that you would prefer to be contacted through letters. Also ask them to validate your debt. Send all your correspondence through certified mail with return receipt requested.

According to fdcpa, debt collectors cannot contact you over phone repeatedly once you have asked not to do so. If they still continue to call you, it will be a violation of law and you can report against them with FTC, BBB.

Once you receive the DV from them and if their demand is justified, then try to pay off the debt. This is the best way to stop harassing calls.

If you feel that monthly installments are beyond your reach you can go for a consolidation program. debt consolidation combines all your unsecured debts and helps you to pay them off with simple monthly installments.

i am being harassed by allied interstate as well.

I purchased a two month contract with sprint for a wireless internet card two years ago and paid five hundred and sixty dollars to sprint in payment and ended the sprint account 1 year and 7 months ago. My family recieved threatening calls from allied interstate during the evening and is still receiving calls from them on a daily basis. These calls are comming from a Gary the account manager at Allied Interstate but have been given no address or direct contact information. I told Allied Interstate that the bill had been paid over a year ago and was not currently listed from the Sprint company, but Allied Interstate has still continued to make threatening calls to family members.
