Hi jlpapergirl
Welcome to debt consolidation care forums

You should immediately lodge a complain in FTC against this collection agency. In addition please lodge a complain in the police station for harassing you. Since Darius Hunt has violated the fdcpa regulation he and his company is liable to punishment under the Federal law.

Further also register your phone number in the National Do Not Call Registry. By doing so they will not be allowed to call you. Please do not feel upset as we the community members are all here to help you.

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards
Peter

I received threatening phone calls from Ellis Crosby and Associates as well. I received these calls before I found this site, so I did moneygram them the money. But after finding this site I wonder it the payday company will ever receive the money. Can Ellis Crosby still receive money while they are suspended? Also, if I want to file a complaint against them whos should I file it with? And what are the website addresses for these companies? Will it do me any good to file a complaint?
Thank you for your help!

I disagree, all the payday loans i have had me sign a wage attachment for if i fail to complete my obligation in repaying my loans.
I know in some states they have to have a court order to garnish but I personally know that in ohio that is not the case, Sonic Payday has used the wage attachment and monies are coming out of my paycheck now and no court has ordered it. I called my payroll people and they told me that they have my signature stating my permission for the attachment.
With every loan i have there has always been a wage attachment. maybe you should first see if a wage attachment has you signature on it, then find out if your state requires a court order for wage garnishments.
If anyone knows if i can get my wage attachment stopped on my own and how, please let me know.
Thanks,
Rich

Have they taken this to court yet?

Only way to garnish your wages is by getting a judgement against you in a court.

call money gram and find out if the payment has been completely processed if not ask them to redirect the payment back to you, all you need is the money gram receipt or No#.
i did it, after waiting 3 days for them to receive the money and I got my money right back into my account.
good luck!

mdow315 - Hopefully, you will get your money back because money is not getting deposited in the accounts of Ellis. Just give a written letter to them stating your money gram receipt or No#.

If you wish to take the help of your attorney, he will be able to guide you in the legal way.

Sonic Pay Day was the "Ellis Crosby" of PayDay loans. I kept getting VERY rude and harrassing calls from a "Mr. Bains." I reported Sonic to Ripoffreport.com, just so all can know what morons they are.

"Mr. Bains" tried contacting my HR rep to take money out of my paycheck, but since I work for the gvnt, our rules are VERY strict. Only I have say in what comes out of my pay. I informed my HR rep that NO money is go to him. My boss chewed him out and I haven't heard from him or them since.

Thanks for updating it here. We need to be a bit careful while dealing with Sonic Pay Day also.

Rich - This may be too late but if not write a certified letter revoking the "wage assignment". Yes, Ohio allows wage assignment but your payroll does not have to honor it. The FTC has prohibited irrevocable wage assignments.

Hi karajoe

Welcome to the forums. We have been getting similar kind of reports from our other members in this forum. If you read other posts, you will realize that the collection tricks used by the company are illegal and atrocious

Please file your complaints at the FTC, BBB and DA's office and request immediate action.

Regards
Roxette

I finally got out of the payday loan cycle. Thought it was a good idea, but after a year or two, I realized that they get you with the huge finance charge to pay it back. I would have to take another one to pay the first one off. After finally renewing and paying the max I could with my budget, I closed them and vowed never to get another one again.
