I get calls 2x a day for the last month. I actuall picked up and pushed 1 to talk to someone. I asked to not be called anymore and the woman yelled at me! What kind of business practice is that? What kind of customer service is that? She had no right to be rude. Theyre the ones calling me constantly. You would think they would get the point if I didnt pick up at any hour for the last 30 times they called.

Val and guest, make your approach legal while dealing with these calls. Both of you must send a cease and desist letter to the company's mailing address. After receiving your letter, it is legally necessary for the company to stop calling you. Otherwise, they will be violating the federal laws. Verbal communications can't be proven if they have violated any of your requests. Send your legal request in writing so that your bases are covered. Make sure that this letter is sent through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will ensure not only its delivery to the company but will also give you a proof of your actions taken to resolve the matter.

I've been getting calls from this number too. But that's because I owe them money. I believe it's a law firm that obtains credit card debts and tries to settle them. Here's the information I've got:

John P. Frye, P.C.
P.O. Box 13665
Roanoke, VA 24036-3665

Toll Free: 866-392-3100
Fax: 540-767-7807

Hope this helps.

I am also getting calls from this number. I got a live person on the phone today and he told me it was none of my business why he was calling and hung up on me. If I had an address I would complain.

I'm getting the same calls too. I've tried answering when they call but it's always a recording telling me to call them back. If I try to call them back it's always a busy signal.

I am so glad I found this! We have been getting calls from this number for months and they never leave messages. I just hear them say Hello, Hello and then they hang up ( I know it's them because of caller ID) Tonight we got the infamous "This is not a soliciation call, call our office regarding a personal business matter... BLAH BLAH BLAH!" I know for a fact that we do not owe anyone anything.

They said that we were a reference number for some name. It seems like they just look up everyone with the last name of the person they want and then call every one of them until they hit the right one. Isn't this illegal?

These numbers are harassing. They keep calling my husbands cell phone(using our minutes) looking for someone(with an asian sounding name). He called back and they lady was so very rude, she hung up on him twice. All he did was ask first ask for her name and the company name and then she hung up. I work in a public service job and would NEVER hand up on someone. So I called today the lady I spoke was pleasant and said they would remove the number from their database.
The name of the company is Oxford <-- way too general of name. If I find out anything else I will post it.

Hope this helps.

"John" or "Mr. Montgomery"
It is not may debt. I've gone through the rigamarole with them once and it's someone else who gave them our number.
They ask my name and phone number, which I refuse to give since they called me.
I ask for a supervisor and the horribly rude man - immediately hostile and rude, and I believe the same man for both calls - told me "This call is being terminated."

Incredibly bad system - they call me, then expect me to give information.

Shirley, it might be possible that some companies use automated systems to hide their identities. The court will ask for proof when you are filing a case against them. Until, you have a proof, you can't be able to take legal actions against them.
If you want to sue them for Violation of the fdcpa then you are gonna have to talk to them , to show actual contact. just them calling while still illegal, will be very hard to prove.

A very annoying machine calles me saying they are an attorney office, caller id is 866-822-6756 . The machine gives endless voicemail options to talk to a person who is never there. I finally pushed through and left a message that I don't owe...take me off the list...etc., so what happens? They upped the calls from 3 times a week to daily. I just put a block on it and I'll see how it goes. $36 a year to block them.

I keep receiving phone calls from this number 1-866-285-5003. This number always leaves a different number (1-800-718-3583 Ext.3410). They don't say who they are and they don't give me any reason why they are calling. I feel if they are going to call, they could at least say why they are calling. That way I would know what information I need to have when I call.
