File a dispute with the company and make them investigate on the item reported on your credit. If it's not correct, they need to delete it.

fedup, if they have not given you proof in validation, it shouldn't be on your credit report. I would notify them that until such time they offer real validation, not verification that they own a debt, they must take it off your report of face legal action. I would also make the CRA aware of this.

Actually they can report the account. The way to remove them is to dispute with the individual bureaus to remove it. If they verify and do not validate, let them know they have violated the fair credit reporting act.You may send copies of your documentation to the bureaus for additional support. If you live in Texas the rules are different because their state laws impose stronger rules on debt collectors.

They never reported mine but I sent a dv letter right away. As far as I'm concerned, I'm dealing with the original creditor. They are one of the worst CA's out there. They are constantly being sued by consumers for violation of the FDCPA.

I will definately pursue the filing a dispute with the CR, that may be a way to prove they don't own the debt after all.

When they contacted me, they were very intimidating or tried to be. I had to pay within a week or they were going to turn it over to an attorney. This was right before my mom went into the hospital for surgery. So I got their address and sent them a dv letter. I also sent them a follow up letter but they have never verified anything. I spoke to an attorney awhile ago who also handles debt settlement. He gave me some good ideas but he said he had two cases pending against them at the time. He said they would settle for about twenty-five percent. I have never attempted to settle with them but I've also been working with the original creditor. I do show where they have looked at my credit report but nothing has been reported yet. If they do, I will dispute it. Make sure you check all three of your credit reports.

I just noticed that a debt I am disputing has now been turned over to CACH, LLC. Originally, it was at a law firm in Oregon called Daniel Gordon. The people at that law firm were hounding me to make a pymt on an acct. that I swear is not mine. They called me at work (I'm in the military) try to put the fear of God in me. It didn't work! I sent them the letter to stop calling me and send me proof that this acct is mine, they never did. I called experian and disputed that account (which is now under CACH), along with 2 others. Should I let experian handle the dispute and see what comes of it or should I dispute it further?

Dispute it with CACH and make sure that Experian is aware of the dispute.

OH SNAPS, I was with a debt settlement company and had them settle the debt with CACH LLC and they took my money, and reported it paid on my credit report, but now I'm wondering should I have paid them?

CACH filled a civil suit with the local court on me back in December 2006, I have disputed it and still have not heard anything from them, 5 months later, no court date. Can I have this dismissed?

Fed,you will need to look in the link I sent you on your laws for a timelimit between first filing and actually continueing case. If there is a timelimit they have violated, move court to dismiss case based on that statute.

Fed, CACH filed suit on me in June 2006 and I didn't recieve the judgement rule hearing until February 2007. It's scheduled for a week from today! Some days I'm a nervous wreck over it some days I'm ok. I'm just ready to get this over with and move on with my life!
Good Luck!
