Palisades has had me listed as owing AT&T over $2,300 for years on a case of ID theft back in 2002. I have called AT&T and verified with them and I owe $0. I will be contacting a lawyer regarding this since it is putting my job in jeopardy. These people need to be put out of business

we are independent contractors for a transport company in indiana (living in illinois)
a wage deduction was placed with the company we contract for; and the company blocked us from working as long as there is a wage deduction.
we want to make arrangements to make monthly payments; but cannot even work. what can be done to remove the wage deduction so we can return to work and start paying this debt off?
thank you.

Anthony,

Could this be a form of a garnishment? Just my 2 cents.

We need more specifics, such as who is doing the wage reduction, and is it legal per Department of Labor? Is this Union negotiated? I know a lot about Unions.

You can always dispute this with the Credit Bureau. Come to my site, and on the side is a link called "Sample Letters for all collection needs". It will give you a list of sample letters. One is there for disputing with credit reports.

Sub: #187 ATT and Pallisades really messed up my credit!!

I had opened 3 accts with ATT and 2 of them were opened on the wrong plan, so they incurred hundreds of dollars in roaming charges. I called when we never recieved a bill to find out my balance, and when we heard they were each around $800 for the first month of use, we inquired how in the world they could get that high and the rep explained it was roaming charges. They refused to rectify their mistake so I had the phones turned off. They were then purchased by Palisades. No one, either ATT or Palisades, is able to give me a copy of the bill to prove the charges. I have to this day, it has now been 4 years, been able to get a copy of this bill. I finally gave in and paid one of them being that it was $380, but the other one that started out at $865 is now on my credit report at over $1300!!! How can they refuse to prove the debt to me but they can continue to add to it interest charges!?!?
The third acct even ended up going to them, we arranged a payment plan and stuck to it. Then months later that called me wanting one last payment of $80, but we had already paid the entire the debt, that one was legit so we agreed to pay and did pay it, but now they day that we missed a payment, and they keep saying that they will send me a statement of the acct showing the payments that they recieved but when it comes in the mail, it only shows the balance of the acct, not the details of the payments they have recieved. These guys are sooooo shady!! How is this legal!?! They have completely ruined my credit, I went from a 680 to a 571!

I have been trying to settle my Chase credit card account with them for almost 2 years and still haven't. I paid a Seideman law firm $45 a month to settle and they submit a proposal for 1/2 to 1/3 and Palisade refused/turn down the offer. They want it all. How do I go about in trying to pay Chase instead of Palisade since they don't want to take my money... I want if off my credit and want it paid off.

I have contacted Palisades collection, on 8/27/2007 I spoke with someone name Carmen on regards to paying off my debt. I gave her my bank account information and we agreed that the money will be taken out on 10/9/2007, that if there was a problem with the account they would contact me. Well yesterday(8/29/07 and today 8/30/07) I been recieving phone calls from palisades on regards my debt. I call them on 8/30/2007 and demanded an explanation why they are calling, to my surprise the same person took my call (Carmen) and said that there was no record of our call or my account info, I told her to listen to their calls as they said they record their calls and find why in the hell, there is no record of my info. I need help what can I do. How can't she said she does not remember our conversation. was she drunk??

Alot of collectors state they don't remember a call. I take notes of what they say and what I say, and read it back to them!

DO NOT ever give any of these collection agencies your bank info- you will end up having more taken out and be in more trouble. If you believe this is your debt, and that they have the debt and are legally bound to collect it- send a money order. Alot of them say they don't take money orders- but I just say ok, and send it anyway, and they haven't returned one yet!

If these people are just collecting for the original creditor, I would try to get in touch with the OC and see if you can bypass them.

Do a search at the top of the screen for them- and you will see what others have gone through with them..Good Luck, keep us posted..KAren

I've recently started trying to build credit and because of this it's stirred up some of my old accounts from years ago. I get alerts whenever something changes on my credit report and have noticed that over the past month, Palisades collection agency has shown up almost every other day. Is that even legal? I've never been contacted by them and don't know what account they even have but I'm sure the negative information being reported almost daily is hurting my credit score. Is there anything I can do to stop this much reporting?
