I had one from att they sold to palisades and has been there since 03. i finally disputed it and said prove the written signed contract. they couldnt. they claimed before that I signed a verbal contract and I did not. By by to them.

QUESTION I have TNB from target on my account they have been rude calling more than 3 times finally I wrote they stop cuz they still would not give any info on what or why or even send me a statement. NO COULD TELL ME ANYTHING

I requested they stop contacting me except to send me the statemnet of proof and that was in 2008 and I still have received no information. I recently called and again they still can give me nothing what should I do about this?

Palasades called me at 5:00 AM this Sunday morning and I can't get them to stop calling me every two or three days. I don't owe anyone any money and I am on the "do not call list". They had the audacity to ask me for my social security number when I asked to speak with a supervisor. She promised me that my name would be deleted from the list but two or three days later, I received another call from them. I have written a letter to the attorney general and I am hoping he can put a stop to this practice.

Two years ago I was taken to court by this company and they never showed up. The Judge dismissed it. Well, now I'm getting the calls ans letters in mail saying I still owe and its never been moved from my credit report. Can I take them to court ? This doesn't seem fair.

You will need to check with a lawyer about that. It is my understanding that dismissing a case is a separate issue from the question of whose debt is it. If it is not your debt however, and they are breaking FCRA you may have a case. A lawyer will be better served to help you answer these questions, and most will do an initial consultation for free to tell you your options.

Cindy: If the matter was dismissed, it should be taken off your credit report. You should send a copy of the order of dismissal to the 3 credit reporting agencies and ask them to remove it. If that doesn't work, you can also contact the creditor who reported it directly, but that is a catch 22, because it will tip them off that they failed to appear in court, and they can make a motion to have the matter added back onto the court's calendar. good luck.

Would like to possibly file civil action against Palisade. They keep attempting to collect a debt from my husband that doesn't belong to him. The first time we just kept telling them the social security number of the account they were collecting was not his, and he had never had an ATT account, or lived in the state the account was accrued in. It ended up on his credit score anyway. NOW, again, three years later, they're back at it. This time, however, only an automated call is made to us, no human - they just leave their name, number, and what reference number to use when a phone call is returned. When we return the call, however, they require you to input your social security number in order to speak to someone. WE'RE NOT DOING THAT!!! I have sent two certified, return receipt requested letters telling them to mail us verification of the debt, and to stop calling us because we are disputing the debt. I have received both cards with the Palisades signatures back. The automated phone calls continue. I still have not gotten any validation information. Going to a lawyer, looking into civil action.

I have sent 2 certified mail, return receipt requested letters to Palisades demanding verification of the debt, AND that they stop calling us because the debt is being disputed (this is the second time in three years they have attempted to collect a debt in my husbands name that does not belong to him). They have failed to provide the debt verification, AND they keep calling with the automated voice person. When you try to call back, they require you put in your social security number to go any further. WE'RE NOT DOING THAT!!! We are getting a lawyer. We are going to look into a civil action case. Anybody interested please post here, or watch facebook for a group to be created to file a suit against Palisades.

I am in a battle with them as well. I have requested several times that they provide validation of the debt and they have refused. They also have not taken it off my credit report. To add insult to injury, they tried to sue and when I let them know I was going to fight it they dismissed their case with prejudice and they are still on our credit report. I say we should all get together and file a class action lawsuit. What they are doing is against the law and they should be shut down.

It will only be removed from your credit report if you have that as part of the agreement to pay. Otherwise, it should still show up, but as paid instead of late.

However, this company is dishonest from the start, so get the agreement in writing and make sure the person signing it has the power to do so.

When dealing with collectors, always get any agreement in writing. To do otherwise is borrowing trouble.
