I too just pulled my credit report and found them on my credit report. The only discrepancy is the address found on my credit report. It shows the following:
87 S Commerce Way Ste 70
Bethlehem, PA. 18017
No phone # available
I'm going to send out my letter ASAP. So they have 30 days to reply? And if they do not, legally they have to remove it? Also, what should this letter include? I want to do this right the first time around because my time is short.

I have Palisades on my report for an AT&T account which I disputed for 2 years with AT&T from 2001. It says its closed on the report from Palisades. I got a letter in the mail from an attorney's office for the same amount which tells me it must have been sold to them correct? now do I talk to Palisades or the attorney? The attorney does not appear on my report.

You need legal help. This could be a case of identity theft or just misidentity. It could also be a case of a fraudulent account created and sold to a collection agency. Check your credit report, annualcreditreport.com, to see if anything accounts show up that you did not open. And open another account with a different bank.

Wow! After reading these, I am somewhat comforted to know I am not alone. How do these companies keep getting away with this?!?! We refinaced our home about two years ago; days before closing I recieved a call from a collection agency stating that we had a past due account for $100 for the UW Medical Center from 8 years ago. I requested info from them that they could not supply so I stated that I would not pay the bill until they did. After hanging up the phone I thought about the chance of our re-finance not completing because of a silly $100 charge so I called the CA back and paid by debit card over the phone. Guess what... the money was never applied to ANYTHING! A few months later our bank contacted me to verify some charges made with my card... they were not from me or my husband... what had happened was the so called CA had obtained my info, not placed any charges for several months, then when I was not suspecting anything, started making purchases with my card. The bank was very cooperative, we had to change all of our accounts and iformation however. OK... second time around... we just refinanced our house again less than two weeks ago and now are having problems with our credit report. My husband owns a mortgage company and it is imperative that we have good credit so he can be approved with broker packages. He came home a few days ago and asked me what was going on with our credit... two companies have requested that we explain the deragatories on our CR. Today I recieved a notice from Palisades Collection, LLC for an outstanding debt to Washington Mutual. I spent over 45 minutes on hold during three seperate calls to them to find out what this is about, we have NEVER had an account with WaMu. First off, they ask you to input your SS# prior to even speaking with anyone...DON'T EVER DO THIS!! I faked out the phone tree by inputing nine random numbers. The one and only time I did speak with a person, the lady asked me to verify my SS#, I stated that I would not because I have been burned with this one before, she then asked me to verify the last four digits, I again stated no, that if she indeed had my information in front of her, she would know what it is and I would be willing to verify the last four digits that she had. She promptly put me on hold to speak to a supervisor. When she returned, I was given a phone number to contact if I wanted to dispute the charges. I called the number and was on hold for over 30 minutes. During my time on hold I was able to log onto this website where I have now been educated as to their scam! I will be contacting WaMu to see what they can tell me and because of this site will definately send respone via certified mail to Palisades, WaMu and the CRA's. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS FORUM!!!!

As I indicated in my previous submission, Palisades is stating that they are attempting to collect on outstanding debt to Washington Mutual (we've never had an account with them) from 1999. Can you please educate me as to what the law states for un-collected debt that is this old... even though I know this is not my debt. Thank you again! By the way... we all need to join forces to fight this injustice!!!

Accurate negative information will not go off from your file before the seven years mark, but it should show up as "paid" if you have already cleared the balance.

My experience with Palisades has been rather bizarre. On February 2007 I received an email alert from Experian informing me that Palisades had just placed me in collections. On further investigation Experian informed that Palisades was attempting to collect a debt from 2001 that I allegedly owed ATT.
I was able to contact one of Palisades’s agents and they informed me that the firm that was handling the account was the Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay P.C. Their numbers are as follows (212) 695-8155 or (800) 247-4720.
I was able to settle with them for a mutually agreeable dollar amount (Not worth getting aggravated for a rounding error alleged debt) and I thought that that would be the end of that since I did receive two letters from that firm stating that the debt was paid and the account was settled.
Within two weeks of receiving the letters my credit reports showed that the account was indeed settled but they had put an interesting note in the comments that states that while the account is settled the amount paid was less than the original debt.
As part of my normal I decided to recheck my credit last week and I noticed that Palisades is again reporting that I have not paid so I will be contacting them again soon and hopefully it will get resolved once and for all.
