I am appx 20k in debt. I did the prog mangmt but it didn't help. Is bankrupt an option?

Try to avoid bankruptcy as far as possible. It will ruin your credit and the negative information will stay for 10 years. During this period, the lenders will not be interested in making any financial deals with you. Besides, there are many reasons for avoiding bankruptcy. Do read this page:
