They are out of Chicago, Illinois. They have been in legal trouble several times. They were Avalon Technologies til they got caught. Please call the Attorney General in Illinois and file a complaint against them. They are one of the rudest agencies out there. The Attorney General in Illnois is Lisa Managan.

Terry,

DO NOT SEND THEM A DIME!!! Make them validate the debt. I have dealt with them personally and they are nothing more than junk debt buyers. They use to collect under the name of Avylon Technologies until they were severally fined and shut down for numerous fdcpa violations. So now they are operating under First Credit of America and are under close watch of Lisa Mandgan AG of Illinois. They think nothing about calling a person and threatening them with sending information to the legal department. Stand firm with them and let them know you are not going to play their game. These idiots actually had the gull to call a police officer a liar over the phone. I just thank god I contacted the police while John Smith was on the phone. Or so he claimed his name was John Smith. Kind of like the officer stated, that sounded like a false name.

Tammy is right. FIrst Credit of America is the absolute worst of the worst and they are under no circumstances to be trusted. Hang up on them.

If memory serves me, this thread was much longer! Where did the rest of it go?

Maybe there are two threads of the same topic? That happens sometimes.

I also have been harassed by them for a loan that I paid off a year ago. Thank you for the information and I am also going to contact Lisa because they keep threatening me with legal stuff and that I know I still have a debt with Platinum B because I agreed to send them money. I did agree once I received validation that I still owed Platinum B. I contacted Platinum B and was told my account has been paid in full.

File your complaint with the Illinois AG and include all proof of debt paid in full that First Credit of America is claiming you owe. Include in the complaint all threats made and the names of the people that have contacted you that issued the threats.

There is another one! It's in the consolidation thread! I remember it well because Mary and I were railing and carrying on because some F@&ers were calling this poor chick and making up lies that would have busted up her happy marriage, all so those monsters could score some bonus money! I will never forget that post!

They call me like 15 times a day. They don't even leave me a message anymore though. They were like we have contacted your payroll department.....still waiting for that to happen.

Tammy, this thread is about "First Credit of America" I think Terry did a search on Google for FCA and came to this page. That is the reason she is addressing her issue thinking this website to be FCA.

Terra, get in direct contact with First Credit of America at the following address

They called me like 15 times a day. Leaving messages on my answering machine that they have contacted my payroll department. Sorry charlie (and for the pun) but until a lawyer contacts my payroll department I just ignore them. But they tell me how much I owe on the answring machine too. That doesn't make me want to call them back either.
