Hi All:

Some get advice here. I, unfortunately, gave my card number after a threat by a rep., saying that she will process me to a third party. She would not tell me who and I can't afford to make the scheduled payment. Since then I have read the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and will not close my account with my bank info. Next, I will write a complaint and cc California's, Nevada's, and Okhaloma's AG offices, as well as the BBB.

Jay I think you must have stumbled on the wrong site. This is a forum that discusses debt issues. We are not a loan company or collection agency. If you have debt issues please feel free to tell us about them and see if we can help. Best Wishes KYSIDE38

Kyside38, I think I understand what kind of forum this is. I have been having problems with United Cash Loans, wherein they would not let me pay it down after I defaulted (robbing Peter to pay Paul) and like I said violating my rights under the fdcpa, and not to mention that they are not licensed to lend money in the California, thus possibly negotiating any contract in the first place.

Unfortunatly I took out a loan through UCL. I had closed my bank account to get my finances back in order because I had so many companies withdrawling from my account that I couldn't control my money at all. It was gone before it was in the account. I just received a very "off" phone call from a Mike and all he said was that he has an item that was returned and I needed to give him a call to take care of it. He didn't say where he was from but I googled the number he gave me and I found out he was from UCL. I cannot pay this debt at the current time. Unfortuantly this is not the only PDL service calling me. I know its best to pay what you can but what happens if I can't pay right now. Do I call and get bullied? What advice can you give me on that. I greatly appreciate any advice at this point.
Thanks!

Jay, you are right. United Cash loans is prohibited from lending in CA. I found this info in this link.

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...p-lending.html

Report California Department of Corporations (DOC) about United Cash loans because they prohibited them from lending in CA but still are managing to do business.

Hi jay and MP, I am currently "working" with UCL and you can find my correspondances with them on my blog site (http://lashleyl06.blogspot.com). I saved the message that violated the fdcpa and sent them a letter demanding PIF for their violation with a transcipt of their call. Anyhow if you can save any and all messages reagrding IPDL as they may be used as evidence. Good lucka dn keep posting

Got a letter from them in response to my VOD letter to them telling me since I sent a C&D they are going to sell my account to a third party collection agency and i could still settle with them for x amount of money. To take advantage of this offer I have until a certain date. They never provided me with all of the documentation that I requested in the VOD letter to them.

I finally got the phone call from them stating that I am in violation of Florida law and all my check writing privlages have been revoked and that since I wrote them a bad check my account will be written off and I guess sent to a collection agency. Not sure about that though. My checking account is closed so the not writing checks doesn't bother me but she said that they have made several attempts to contact me and I believe they misrepresentated themselves because the only calls I received from that number were from a guy telling me I had a returned item and I needed to call him back he said his name was Mike and he didn't tell me what it was in regards to. But this woman that called me told me that I had till a certain time to call her and if I would like to leave a name of my attorney she would contact them. Does that tactic really work? I mean what if they did get someones attorney. I would think they would be in for a bad phone call. I am trying to figure out what to do next so I will keep you posted...

I have a $300 loan from them that I owe $390 on. I have paid $180 so far. I sent them an email saying that I am in Florida and that they have overcharged me. The compliance dept called and emailed me saying they could settle with me if I pay $210 by today (1-26-07). They also said that they have stopped all debits from my account and I need to call in or wire the money by today and my account would be closed. This was a much better deal, since I would be paying $210 instead of $390 (or more). Well, this morning I looked at my account and sure enough, they took out the $90! Now I am really angry! What should I do now?
Thank you.

Just settled with them after I complained about the fees. They say I can not do any more business with them or their affiliates. Just curious - do you know who their affiliates are?

I don't know who all of their affliates are, but you should have told them Good, because you do want any more of their illegal overcharging business anyway.

I need to know about this company and how to get ahold of them. My wife got a 300.00 loan from them via the internet back in Nov 06 as of this date Feb 07 they are still taking money out of my account. My bank has the paperwork to stop them but hasn't. I don't have any numbers or e-mail addresses to get ahold of these people. They have screwed up my account for the last 2.5 months. For a 300 dollar loan they have taken over 900.00 I need help!! e-mail me at email address removed as per forum rules - Mike please
