apparently Michael Hanson is also someone who the debt collectors are trying to reach. Unfortunately, they keep dialing my number and leaving messages to call back on an 866 number. Whoever this deadbeat Michael Hanson is, I wish he hadn't given 866-402-1044 my phone number. perhaps we should all get together and file a class action suit against the company who is harassing us trying to collect debts from these deadbeats!!!!
866-402-1044 has been calling my hosue for a week early in the morning, and late in the evening. when we are all sleeping. I finally answered the phone. at first no one said anything then it said "we have an important message for you" and then a person came on the phone (866-402-1044) and asked for me. I have to credit cards but I have paid my bill. I wanted to get a message so I told them that I wasn't here and instead of them leaving a number to call back they just hung up. I have dealt with HSBC before and they are really nice. And have dealt with capital one to for a late payment and they weren't as nice and this sounded for like it was from capital one. Does anyone know how I can go about getting them to call since my bill is paid up.
866-402-1044 may belong to a debt collection company, but I'm not sure about it.
If this is a debt collector calling you, they must send the debt validation in writing so that you are sure about them having your legitimate info. Send a DV letter from your side if nothing has been sent in your mail. This will cover your basis legally and they should contact you only if they have a legitimate purpose. You can also write a cease and desist letter to stop all communications with you.

Sub: #5 Discover is calling from 866-402-1044 numberSat, 07/29/2006 - 09:21
866-402-1044 number is from Discover card. They seem like harmless folks, just trying to solicit their new Discover card. They just dont leave a message, and they call during day time when we have a lot of freaking work to get done. They call on weekends in the morning as well. Just call them back at 866-402-1044 (its a toll free number, BTW) and tell them your name and your phone number and ask them to stop calling and you wont get any call from them again. Hope this helps.

If you call it, you'll get, "Thank you for calling Discover Card". When someone calls more than 3 times, I wait and call back after hours to get the source of the problem.
I've received multiple calls over the past few weeks from these bozos trying to collect a debt from some deadbeat named Michael Hanson who apparently gave his creditors my phone number. I've taken to reporting the offending number that the automated calls originate from (757-321-6270) to the do not call registry www.donotcall.gov/
this number calls me daily, 5-10 times a day, i have answered and told them that they have the wrong number, each time they say they will put it on file. how do you make it stop?

hi
I receive calls on my cellphone every day from this nr (HSBC Bank ). I answered and tried to tell them to stop calling me, as I have no connection whatsoever with them. But they have an automated machine calling.
I was wondering if anyone who was bugged by them got them to stop, and if so, how????
Thank you!

this household bank place calls at least 15 times a day for my step-dad. My mom, sister and I tell them many times a day that he does not live here anymore and ask if they want his current phone number, and they just hang up. how do we make this stop?
By signing up for counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
anyone know 866-402-1044?
