Share your stories about your Valentine!!

I was thinking if someone will come on the board and create a topic about their Valentine!! But guess, no one did. Sad

Hence, I took this opportunity to begin this thread. Want to share stories about someone whom you love the most???? You can give it a personal touch or share a general theory.. But let me start with mine first Very Happy

I have been dating 'my someone special' since the last three years and this is the second valentine for both of us. Guess what, due to our busy schedules, we didn't get time to meet each other. However, we talked on the phone for sometime and shared some pleasant memories.

She has been a special woman for me and will remain for the rest of my life.. I can feel the perfect bliss while I am with her. And she feels the same when she is with me. We both belong to each other and this is perhaps, the best thing that happened.

A couple of my recent friends have felt a crush on me. But I guess, I will remain committed. My life has been changed and I am not the same one that used to be earlier!!

Let's roll this thread with more posts from you.. Very Happy

I have been married to my valentine for 13 years on April 10, 2006. We have a bond that is unbreakable, and believe me people have tried more than once. We met on Valentines Day 2002 and when we first saw each other we knew this was it, the search was over. Both of our families didn't give us 6 mos after we got married and here we are almost 13 years and 4 kids later. We see each other in passing each day. He works all day then attends college at night working on his bacholers degree in Business Management. One thing I always remind myself when were apart is that he is doing all this for us and I am very proud of him and it will be all worth it when he is finished.

Happy Valentines to all the forum members. Very Happy

Lovely stories from both of you!! Neither I am married at present nor do I have a valentine this year. It's just because I am taking my time to understand the person with whom I want to spend my life. I don't want to go through the phases of divorce later. So, I prefer to get matured first and get a sensible lady matured enough. Hopefully, patience will get rewarded!

I have been married for ten years. My husband just started a new job working the graveyard shift...so he got home, gave me some chocolates and had to go to bed because he works tonight. We met at work in 1993, I started working for his Dad. We have 3 kids, all boys.

Me and my valentine met online two years ago, we met in person exactly two years ago today on Valentine's Day. We went out to shoot pool and have dinner. I remember how quickly he caught on to how embarassed I was to eat in front of him! I would pack my face while his back was turned to me taking his shot, then he caught me offguard with the disposable camera I brought along. The picture of me to the left of each of my posts is a relic of that night! It was magic, except for the picture he took of me with my cheeks bulging full of food! After we finished with pool and dinner he gave me a gift...a cactus. I had never recieved a cactus as a gift and found it a little odd, but I wanted to show appreciation so I said "A cactus! It's beautiful!" then he laughed and gave me the REAL gift...a cute little teddy bear with a costume jewelry heart on it.
He's from Denmark, at the time he was here on a temporary work visa which was to expire five months later. We didn't want to lose each other, so on May 25, 2004 we went to Providence, RI and did the unthinkable. We got out marriage license, walked down the street to the courthouse and were married! It has been a real treat ever since. He inspired me to push myself further. Before him, I was attending a Community College studying liberal arts and working sporadically through a temp agency, a pretty low point in my life. With his encouraging, I gave up on studying liberal arts and started business school. I have my ABA now and am five months away from my BBA.
Last Valentine's Day, which I have always considered to be one of our anniversaries, we went flying together in a fixed-wing airplane (he's a career heli pilot) and then went out for Chinese dinner. After dinner he surprised me with a new teddy bear to keep the first one company!
We spent our first wedding anniversary having dinner at his favourite restaurant Outback, then we went to see Star Wars 3, the weather was so bad the theatre went blackout just as it was getting freaky! (Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting with lightsabers above all that lava) I felt like such a 'tard because the movie was my treat and it bellyflopped!
Today, we spent Valentine's Day taking a firearm safety class and then going practice shooting with the instructor. It wasn't as scary as I thought, the first moment I picked up a gun gave me the creeps, but that passed. It was pretty fun though and the people were very nice. Living in New England all my life gave me a really one-sided look at guns and the NRA. If you respect firearms nobody will get hurt, that's their philosophy, and they're not a bunch of anti-establishment rednecks. They're nice people and they're pretty smart. We had fun today and learned a lot! I can't wait until May 25! And next V-day!

David,

I think that is a great attitude. I'm sure you will find someone special. I married young at 23 and was divorced 5 years later. We remain good friends today so I'm grateful for that. I didn't date for over a year just so I could keep the focus on me and not hurt anyone else in the process. I got married a second time on May 5th of last year after being engaged for two years. The funny thing was we had been friends for several years before that. My family adores my husband and he is a good man. I couldn't ask for anyone better. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day !

Happy Valentine's Day, all! My Valentine... I met at my previous work. I was in a septic tank, shoveling the contents into a barrel (long story there...I'll have to elaborate on another thread with that one) and along came this gorgeous guy...and here I am, doing....that. Anyway, he is a geologist and he was doing some field work on top of Mt. San Jacinto (where I worked) and he thought I was the coolest chick in the world, that I could stand to do what I was doing (that was a rare part of my job, usually I was driving a tramcar up the mountain). So I saw him a few more times at work, and I went out of my way to go and find him in the forest on my break, just to chat. He asked me out, we went out, and the rest is history! Weird story, huh? Don't tell anybody! LOL!!

Happy Valentine's day, everybody! Denny, get off work already! This should be a holiday!! I skipped my meeting tonight Smile

My valentine is one that I've been married to for 26 years now.As I have posted in an earlier post, we met the day after thanksgiving on a 'blind' date and within a month, we were married! We married three days after Christmas. He didn't live in my town, or even my state for that matter. He was stationed in Beaufort S.C., I was in Georgia, and he came to see me every weekend. He had been married before and had custody of a 2 and 3 yr old. I had a 18 month old. A ready made family is what they called it. SO not only was I marrying someone that I knew for less than a month, but I was also leaving home for the first time. my husband is very dedicated, he retired after 20 years in the USMC, and has shown me that same dedication. We have traveled together and seen places that I would have otherwise never seen. He came in my life when I was at a very low point, I was only 18 when we married but I had already had a hard life. He saved me. He rescued me when I needed rescuing! I raised his children as mine and hes raised mine as his. He adopted my son. While he was married to his first wife, he had a vasectomy and so we would never have our own children together. We thought at first, we would be happy, after all, we had three kids. But after time went on, we longed to have a child together. My husband started going to drs to see about getting his vasectomy reversed. Years went by with no success. These types of drs are expert in the military and few and far between at that time. We had finally accepted it and moved on. one day, my husband had hurt his thumb working on the motor of a bus in Japan. He went to the dr, who just happened to glance through his records and noticed that he was interested in a reversal. It turns out, there as a doctor in that very hospital that could do the reversal and had a reputation for being excellent. My husband got in to see him, had the operation and four months later, I was pregnant with what is now my 20 year old daughter. We have been through thick and thin. If any of you have seen the film forest gump, you'll appreciate that we call ourselves peas and carrots. (remember forest said him and jenny were like peas and carrots?) Thats what we are. He still calls me his 'precious' and tells every one that I'm his bestest friend.
Sometimes I think back and say to myself, that I wished a particular event in my life hadn't of happened, but then I remind myself that if I could go back and change it, then it would change everything and I wouldn't have met my husband. (the butterfly effect) Things happen for a reason, good and bad. I'm thankful that they do! And this is my valentine story. Shirley
