I have a phone appointment with a bankruptcy attorney tomorrow because Hess Kennedy has done nothing for me in 10 months and I have no where to turn. Their "paralegals" are very rude and do nothing but send IM's to each other while you are trying to talk about your finances with them. I signed up with them July '06 and if I had seen anything like the info I have seen in this forum, I certainly would not have done it. They do not keep you informed and you have to call periodically to see if a letter has been sent out. They told me to write a letter to the company that is treatening to put a lien on my house to say I have moved to Florida to their address. Are you KIDDING ME?? Such a terrible business. I am about to have my check garnished by one of the creditors that told me that "they don't care about HK's letters, and if they would have responded in a timely manner, my situation would have been a lot better than it is now". I have foolishly paid HK $4,750 in 10 months and I am broker than broke with 2 jobs.
I just hope a BK lawyer can deal with HK from now on, because I can't take it anymore. You think you are trying to make good from your past mistakes, and it only gets worse.
They deal with letters and faxes to your creditors. Never a phone call. It's pathetic and bad business. I kick myself each day for being so nieve!

The use letters and faxes to build a record. Any creditor or debt collector who will not correspond in writing is a scam. Watch out.

In debt in Detroit,
I, to wan in debt about $30,000 and Hess Kennedy sounded like a charm. We'll talk to your creditors and take care of you is what Adam told me. Debbie tole me too that they would take care of it all. Every time I called I was put on hold, have never had anything sent to me in the mail about my account, or had any kind of e-mail sent. I got tired of it all and now I'm having to settle my debts myself and I'm so sick of this place. I try not to let this place upset me but since I've dealt with them a year ago it gets into your system a little. I hope Adam, Debbie, and Jessica that answers the phones have some kind of heart at what they are doing. It's hurting people and they still are having people sign up with them. What the Heck!!!! STAY AWAY FROM HESS KENNEDY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I have been dealing with hess kennedy company for about two months on my debts and all they have done is take my money and not done anything about my debts as they had promised. I am still getting calls from creditors who say they have not been contacted by anyone from hess kennedy and i believe them!! I am beginning to think this company is fraudelent! I have called Richard Taylor a number of times and he tells me something different to do each time. I have done everything he has told me to do and they still haven't settled my debt. Also he won't return my calls, I have to call him until I reach him. Therefore, i definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

This company managed to get me further in debt and unlawfully keep my money also. I have had experience with almost every bad thing people have posted here. How dare they take advantage of people who are already in need of help.

Hi KM,

I HIGHLY recommend superior debt serivies. I removed my remaining 4 accounts out of Hess kennedy into their company and it is working wonders for me and they HAVE EXCELLENT customer service and they are not a debt consolidation company and they are reputable by BBB.com, and have a great standing company rating!

After posting my long e-mail on here about Hess and how they didn't help me for 9 months... the other day one of my accounts finally got settled and paid off. --that took a lot of effort of calling hess a thousand times a day to speak to someone and to nag them. Basically in my opinion, they really have TERRIBLE customer service, they are the type of company that if you want things done you have to nag them every minute of the day which really is ridiculous but that was the hard way I learned it and got them to get things done.
Also, to be honest...when they say you creditors won't get paid until a settlement is reached,... I can explain this better .--what HESS really means is that if you don't have enought money yet in your trust account to settlement even one credit card account, you have to to basically wait until you are being sue and you received a summons like I did and then that's when Hess decides to negotiate. Sadly...they have a terrible way of running their business and messing up their clients credit score/ ratings after you get into their program. Hess doesn't tell us clients that upfront, but I got sued already for two accounts and just a week ago a few days before my court date, hess settled one of them. they are not working to settle the other one that I am being sued for. I was so stressed out for weeks worrying about appearing in court and thank god I didn't have to. With Hess, the number one thing is you have to have enough money build up before they will do anything to contact your creditors, as frustrating as it is...that is how Hess is. I can't tell you countless times how angry I was on the phone with them and calling them a few times a day to get through to speak to someone, Jenna Hudson who works at Hess is the negotiator and I am constantly calling her to get updates even if it is just a little update. Hess will never call you back so don't expect it, they will just tell u they are too busy and it is better to keep calling them to get someone to speak to.

Because I had to learn the hard way with Hess, I had to end up moving the 4 other accounts out of Hess and transferred it to Superior Debt Services. For those of you who just signed up or thinking of signing up with HEss.... I urge you not to and really do your research to look for a company that is ceritified by bbb.com and also look up the history and ratings on the company before you commit to one.

Although Hess, after almost 10 months has help me settle 1 account out of 7 I originally submitted to them.. and have to finish settling 2 more for me because I moved out the other accounts... I still DO NOT recommend anyone to use them.

Seriously, you must take my post into consideration.. I have had the worst experience with them though they help me in the end a little bit.. I still give them

I still give Hess a thumbs down!!!

I had my share of problems with revoking the monthly payments to them closing my account and keep all the money for their so call fees. I called them and told them that there was no work done on it and therefore they can't keep the total of 15% as stated in the original contract... so I thought it through and the best way was to let them finish settling the accounts I am being sued for and move the ones that aren't at that level of a SUMMONS...to superior debt services!

I speak to Teresa Cadiz at Superiors Debt Services and she will counsel you and help answer all your questions.. she helped me a lot and after many phone calls back and forth with her about Hess... just to have someone to talk to even though she really didn't have to do that for me because technically I wasn't signed up with her company...she did. she listens to me and advise me on what I can do about Hess, whether reporting to state attorney generals office or whatever it is. She give me a lot of advice and also told me why Hess' way of running their business is different than her company and she advise me on many ways to fight back at Hess if they don't give me the services I am paying for.

My best option was to stay with Hess instead of losing that 15% fee they wanted to keep and also the fact that I was being sued.. I left Hess with the trouble accounts and gave supierior debt services the ones that didn't get too serious yet.

Thank god they took me in even though my accounts where about 10 months overdue. They are really great!

I hope you all will consider them. You will find that they are a great company and will do what they say, even if they can't settle your account..they won't keep the 15% of the money like Hess does. They will just take $50 dollars as a processing fee.

They are honest and have a great system in how they settle your accounts for you.

If anyone is interested in giving them a call, you can call the person that set up my account. She is ABSOLUTELY great and knowledgable, nice, and just a great listener. You can tell her you got her number from Wai Chun Lee.-She'll know who I am.

Guest, you were told by Consumer credit counseling that they consolidate bills correct? Me too. CCCOA lied. When Hess Kennedy figured this out they contacted me immediately. I did not qualify for consolidation so Hess managed to negotiate 30% settlements with my two cards.

I signed up with Hess Kennedy in July 2006 thinking my money was going toward the debt. They were taking 153.00 a month out of my bank account and the company that I have the debt with has not recieved anything from Hess/Kennedy to reflect they represent me. I feel I HAVE BEEN TAKEN!!! Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to begin the process of trying to get my money back? Trust me I have already stop payment through my bank. Any information on what I need to do would be helpful.

Everything negative I have read about this company in the messages is absolutely true of my horrific experience. I signed up with them in Sept 2006; as of May 2007 not one of my creditors had received a single payment. Like many of you I signed up with CCCA and found suddenly that Hess Kennedy was handling my account. My credit cards were in reasonable standing and I was expecting them to stay that way -- I thought I was enrolled in a program that would arrange low monthly payments to my creditors. The next thing I knew I was enrolled in a settlement program and I only discovered when it was too late that Hess Kennedy's plan was to wait until all my credit cards charged off while taking $166 per month from my account. To make a long story short, all my credit cards charged off by March 2007 and my credit rating was a disaster. I could see that nothing was being done to pay my creditors as of May 2007, so I cancelled the contract with Hess Kennedy. Ever since cancellation on May 1st I've been given the run around by Hess Kennedy on my refund; at first I was told I'd get no refund because I'd only be entitled if I had cancelled the contract within the first 30 days of signing up. I told this person that was not true and that my contract said I could cancel at any time and get a refund (minus lawyers fees) within 60 days. I faxed them this page of my contract with a cover page demanding a refund. I then called them back to ask when I would be paid. They said in 2 weeks. May 15th I had no check so I called to find out why. They said the business office was handling it and I could expect a check by the end of the first week of June. No check by June 8th so I call them and they tell me my check went out a few days before; June 11th there is no check. I call them and asked the person I spoke with (Nicole Jennings) to check and confirm that the check was in the mail; she was off the line for a while then came back and confirmed the check was put in the mail on June 11th and that I should expect it in a few days. June 18th there is still no check. I call them and speak with Nicole Jennings; she refuses to acknowledge that she told me the check was in the mail on June 11th; instead she said they had 60 days as of the contract termination date to pay me, and told me that I had cancelled May 1st. I asked her why I had been told that my check was put in the mail June 11th if it wasn't true, and why they had lied to me? She simply said that my documents had been sent to the business office. I asked her if she remembered what she had told me about my check being in the mail on June 11th. She was evasive and refused to answer the questions. She became quiet and wasn't even attempting any further explanation of the situation. I told her that if I did not receive a check by June 30th I would take legal action against them. She said nothing and even seemed strangely unconcerned, as if my complaint simply didn’t matter nor phase her. I hung up. My fear is that if they lied about a check being in the mail, they have absolutely no intention of sending me one by June 30th.

Anybody want to begin legal proceedings against Hess Kennedy / a class action lawsuit? There are many of us who have paid this company very large sums of money and no matter what they say it is clear they do not plan to pay our creditors or refund anyone. Do not listen to anyone who tries to tell you "they are just busy, just keep calling them, they will do the job", it is just not true. A genuine business does not have as many cases of fraud as have been reported here, and no one should deal with them. If you are contemplating it, take my word for it, and that of everyone else who has been duped -- KEEP AWAY FROM HESS KENNEDY -- they are a criminal organization swindling millions of dollars from people who are already in debt to creditors they have trouble paying. Please do not proceed if you have just started paying them, pull out and only work with a company that is a member of BBB.

Again, is anyone interested in filing a class action lawsuit? Let's start talking about this and help each other go bring this fraudulent company to justice before they swindle millions of other people the way they have swindled us. Let's put them out of business. They have destroyed my credit rating for the next 7 years; they deserve nothing else but to be driven out of business by the very people whom they have cheated and stolen money from. Please let's do something about this together, and not just air our grievances. Does any of you have info on how to go about a class action lawsuit?
