|
|
I recently got a copy of my credit report (just out of college and wanted to see the damage I'd done to myself) and I see that there are 2 seperate accounts for lvnv funding: one opened in June and the other in July of this past year marked "Seriously Deliquent"... Why have I no knowledge of these accounts???

Amanda,
LVNV Funding is a collection agency. Probably any of your accounts are with them currently and that is the reason they are appearing in your report.
Contact them and inquire which of your accounts they are collecting. You can also contact your creditor for more details. You can send letter to the collection agency as well asking for debt validation. Send your letter through certified mail.
Accounts under collection are considered negatively and hurts your score. Make some arrangements to pay them back and get it reported in your favor. Do let us know if you need any more information.
One more thing, if the same account has been reported twice by them, you should dispute it with credit bureaus. So check your credit report thoroughly. Keep us posted.

Amanda, just as Stanley said---Since you know nothing of this, you need to send them a debt validation letter requesting all info so you have an idea if these are in fact your accounts or not, and what they are purtaining to. If they aren't yours, you can dispute them with the credit bureaus, let them do an investigation and come back to you with the results. Also if this is the same account reported twice, one has to be removed, they cannot report duplicates, and you'll need to point this out to the bureaus so that one can be removed. That will help your score a little in doing that. Come back here and let us know how it goes and ask any other questions that you need help with. thats what we're here for. Shirley

You are smart for staying on top of this and cleaning it up before it's out of hand or older. Very smart!
