They arent goin to do anythin! They swear up and down they are goin to send you to jail! Everyone sitation is differnt! If you signed a contaract read it! Alot of places can not seek legal help due to the prices they charg for the loaN!

Call this number it's urgent. Left messages at home and work. We are going to proceed with legal action tommorow. Take care of it by * pm tonight. Out of the blue I guess this was from a payday loan I never paid back 4 years ago. I'm wanting to take care of it. I'm an honest person. These guys rude,threatening, and abusive. Do you want the embarassment at work? etc.

I tried to be calm ask questions..

Did they leave the threat of legal action on a message? Can you make a copy of this message? As I understand it, once they make the threat of taking legal action they have 30 days to make good on this threat or you can sue for fdcpa violations; making a threat they have no intention of or are unable to follow through on.

Be sure to file complaints with the FTC, your state's Attorney General's office, and Florida's Attorney General's office.

The thing that kills me, and you make the same point JC, if all CA's would deal above the board without having to resort to the constant illegal chicanery, they would probably increase the amounts they actually collect. Hate to say a good amount of CA's think it is easier to resort to the stereotypical CA foolishness and end up breaking the law. And Il-Legal Mediation Mal-Practice seems to lead the pack of crooked CA's when it comes to violating the FDCPA.

I had a voicemail left by a Jim King ex. 243 regarding my sister and she needs to call him back by the end of the day. I called her and told her this and she looked up info about it and found this forum and called me back and said just ignore it its a scam. Well I called back the guy to get my number off their lists and when I got ahold of Jim King I said he called me earlier about my sister and he said, who are you and who is your sister. I said im none of your concern and my sisters name was _____ ______. He said these exact words, if your none of my concern than get the f*** off my phone! AND HUNG UP! I want to beat him senseless wtf is this guys problem, seriously!

I live in mass and payday loans are prohibited.....therefore the paday loan company does not have lending authority and the provisions of the contract are not witin the law...it is not legally binding...thanks to a previous post. Anyhow mr jack bowen...I called him mr jack off tried to scare me and I told him if he can beat it out of me I will send him the money otherwise I only owe the original company the original amount I borrowed.this guy is a joke and a male knot hole licker

Well, magovn, if they are threatening to "garnish your wages", they first have to sue you, win that lawsuit, then get an order to garnish your wages in order to do so. It's not something that is going to happen overnight.

If they are threatening to exercise some sort of "wage assignment" in order to get money out of your paycheck, all you need do is send them a written statement revoking said "wage assignment."

Do a little searching on this site regarding garnishment and wage assignment, you will find much more detailed explanations regarding them.
