I used to work for Legal Mediation Practice in 2007..theyre located in jacksonville, Fl.. they use numerous scare tactics but they are nothing more than a collection agency..They collect only outstanding checks to payday loan companies... If you refuse to pay when they call you, it is marked as a refusal to pay but it will recycle in their system a couple months later and youll receive another call later down the road.. i personally have called the same debtors over and over again(sometimes months apart)even though they have already told me before that they refuse to pay..its a endless cycle of phone calls..Richard Steele is the owner of the company and Bill Roth is the general manager..they are very good at what they do but thats mainly due to the scare tactics they use..dont let them scare you!!

Thanks for coming forward X, I don't have the stomach to do that type of work as I don't have the heart to treat people the way some of the PDL CA's do.

Since I've been in the job market for several months now, I've always wondered why I've never seen an ad for employment at LMP.

Well, wonder no more.

I thought about calling them, just to goof on them, and find out more about the "BIG PAY - BIG BENEFITS"; however, I'm sure it's a load of BS to try and suck poor unsuspecting applicants in. I'd never consider working for a CA, though. I just don't have it in me to do that kind of work. I worked in a call center before, and could never do that kind of work again. Regardless if it's a collection job or not.

Not nocking anyone that does work at a CA, though, so please don't think I am.

I wouldn't go that far UncleWulf. I would say I have become a lot less patient with idiots than I was a little over a year ago.

To tell the truth, JCEMT, I think they're doing a great job of bringing their own selves down from the inside.

I posted in another thread about a conversation I had with a woman at the Florda AG's office a couple of weeks ago. They are already aware of LMP's chicanery and asked me to tell people to file complaints regarding LMP with their office. Whether they are a resident of Florida or not.

Just go to (www).myfloridalegal.com. Click on the link in the upper right hand corner labeled "Contact Bill McCullom." It's pretty self explanatory from there.

Besides, I already sued these creeps. I doubt they're going to hire me after that. Of course, they're probably not the most intelligent people in the world; It would be a stitch if they did hire me!

I have just got a call from them today, threatening the same thing and I am making payments of fifty dollars a month to cash net USA on my acct and he still threatened to send law enforcements out tomorrow.
he of course wouldn't talk to me directly because the account is in my husband name

Welcome to the forum csmom2g, you cannot be charged with any crime in relation to a debt (even a pay day loan) and you cannot be sent to jail/prison. Debts are civil matters, not criminal. I would suggest that you send them a debt validation letter (you can find a good template via my signature) as well as a request to no longer contact you by phone (which is also included in my DV letter) send it certified mail, return receipt requested.

What state do you live in? I would like to see if you can record calls without the other party's consent. If you can I would suggest calling them back to see if you can get them on recording threatening your husband with arrest/imprisonment. That would give you perfect grounds to hit them with a lawsuit for $1,000 for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

yea I got a call from them today, don't worry, they are just bunch of dumb idiots who use tactics to scare you. I told the dude to F___K OFF and I will be waiting outside for the law. LOL .. dumb idiots.

Yeah, they are full of crap when it comes to threats of imprisonment and arrest. The best way to give them the finger in return is to file suit for violation of the fdcpa, seek maximum damages possible.

I just got off the phone with "Legal Mediation Practice' in Jacksonville - 1-800-201-0565---- Mine is from Pay Day Loan Yes. They threatened me the same thing as you guys,,, but the bad part about mine is this is not the only company I owe for this. I got myself in so deep with this and I cant get out. I am so scared and tired of being harrassed. I dont even want to go outside of my job for lunch because I dont want to be emmarrassed by them taking me to jail. I didnt act scared on the phone but I am. Anyone, please help- there has to be a way other than jail or paying the entire thing right now...But they said they dont accept partial payments... I am screwed and very scared... and SO tired of debt and harrassment calls at my job. Sad

Welcome the the forum Queen.
First of all they cannot have you arrested, imprisoned, or charged with any sort of crime. Doing so they have violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Automatically you could sue them for $1,000 in just statutory damages for this alone.

To get the calls at work to stop just let them know that you cannot receive these types of calls at work. Better yet send a request in writing to them to not call you at all. It is best sent certified mail, return receipt requested.
