Default Community Suggestion is required

Dear Members,

DebtCC points are to motivate and help our community members and for almost a year this has been a helpful community tool. One of the main motives of DebtCC points was to draw new members to our community. Since DebtCC is earning very limited through adsense and other means, we are stepping over the budget. We still want to appreciate the community participation with the shared revenue model but at the same time we need to remain within our budgets. Here is a proposal:-
  • We stop the DebtCC points for pub.
  • Debt Samaritans and Moderators get 1 cent per point instead of 2 cents.

This will help us encourage the new users participate in DebtCC community forums. With DebtCC your earning will not come down as we have 7 other ways (We are thinking of more ways where we can earn collectively).

This is just a suggestion and your feedback will help us implement it, any other suggestion is also welcome. Please let me know your feedback.

Regards
Vikas

Default points

i think that most people here will be posting to share their view points and not to earn money but if any point is earned then its a added bonus. So i dont think that there should be any problem in the 2 proposals.

regards

I think that sounds just fine. It's very generous to allow us to earn money by posting here in the forums, it wouldn't be fair for us to be greedy. (And going over budget kinda defeats the purpose!)

I am not here in the forums to earn money. I am here to help other people. I agree with Jessi going over the budget defeats the purpose of the forums.

I think that's great. Since we are all trying to control our budgets and stay within our means it's only fair that we don't make someone else's budget go over. I'm here to help and not make money.

You also have my endorsement Vikas.I think the pub should be for fun anyway,It always felt kind of wrong getting points for going to a pub .I handle payroll at work, and Im an expert on budgets.

Vikas,

I didn't even realize for the first week what these points are for, and I never fathomed that they had a correlation with money.

I like it here, and I especially like the pub.

You could take the whole thing away, and I wouldn't leave ya

Though I am new I must echo the same sentiments that if you go over your budget it defeats the whole purpose of helping each other stay within their budgets.

I was in same position as Pollyandsay that I did not realize that the points actually represented money until I saw the posts about them being paid out.

I found this forum looking for an answer to a small question and the resoures and input from others not to mention the support has already proven to be invaluable.

I say do what you need to keep the basic foundation of this true to what it supports for all of us.

Tim

Vikas,

Count my vote too.

I think all the community members are here to help each other. Lending a hand comes first, money comes second.

I think the debtcc points are just an added benefit. I don't see it as a motivator to post, and I would continue to post and be involved here without that benefit.
