Been scouring the internet to find a site that tells whether payday lenders are registered in my state (Florida). I remember coming across it yesterday but I've look at so many sites I can't remember where I found it. It is my plan today to send out certified letters to my lenders (especially the ones who aren't registered to lend in my state).

Hi everyone. for anyone is Washington State, here is an interpretation I requested regarding the applicability of Washington Law and internet payday lenders.

Your email to James Brusselback has been forwarded to me for response. It is the legal position of the Department of Financial Institutions that an internet based payday lender doing business in Washington is, in fact, required to be licensed. Thank you for your inquiry.

Wow, so it looks like they are not supposed to be loaning in states where they aren't licensed?? They could really put themselves out of business quickly couldn't they? I have not had time to check this issue out here in Iowa but I will definitely have to look into it. My debt could go down very quickly if this is the case.
