I viewed my credit report and saw that I owed bally's total fitness $2,689 and I really don't know why .

did you sign up wiht an annual contract with them? they might have been adding monthly fees and probably charging late fees on top of it if you have. Then the probably sold the account off to collections. I would look into it and find out
