Internet's first get-out-of-debt community - 135,000 members

Virgiania-legal-defense(VLD) one of our valuable community members who some of us like me have come to appreciate a lot for their selfless dedication to the community proposed to me recently that there is a woman in michigan who needs legal help with her payday loan lenders. He requested that DebtC community pay for her legal defense and it will cost approximately $300.

I have told him that our community would be happy to pay for her legal defense if the woman agrees to come forward for a video interview describing her situation both before and after the case. It would be a unscripted unedited real downtoearth video webcam interview over the internet.

If the woman agrees for the video interview I will put the interview here and also update the outcome of the case.

VLD please feel free to post below this topic with more detailed description of the situation.

I truly think that your heart is made of 24 karat gold. How kind of you to reach out to this woman in crisis!

I have had a jaded view of humanity for so long now, and I have found this place where people look out for eachother. It is overwhelming and refreshing!

When you find out who she is, can I donate some of these points to her?

The prospective client is a bit shy about being photographed and would prefer to remain anonymous, as she is understandably embarrassed by her financial situation. She is willing to do an audio-only interview that does not identify her by her true name. My impression is that she is a nonconfrontational person by nature, and is considering the suit only as a last resort, as she's already overpaid the illegal payday loan companies, and no matter what she does, they keep telling her she owes more money, and have been unwilling to talk to a debt consolidation and negotiation company she's been in contact with.

vld thanks for the quick reply. The objective for the interview is to give others the courage to deal with the situation. I think the audio interview servs that purpose too.

It is funny (and yet very sad)-my first thought was to pay the $300 myself and then I remembered I cant get any more payday loans. But I will find a way to help...there are people a lot worse off than I on here and yet they all have time to help me. I have been amazed by the kindness and total acceptance of everyone in this group.

I feel you. It all hits me at night. I cannot remember the last time I fell asleep before 3 am. I don't talk about these issues with anyone in my life. I am far too embarassed. I hold it all in and this stress and worry is destroying me.

The anonymity (did i spell that right) of the internet can be an equally beautiful and scary thing. For normal folks like you and I it is beautiful. The fact that the evil pedophiles have the same anonymity (still not sure on that one) as you and I do is what is SCARY!

Yes, sleep is a grand relief....if you can get there. Of course, waking up with that "payday loan" knot in your stomach is no fun!

I have had my parents co-sign a loan, borrow from their home equity and use retirement money to bail me out of these payday loan messes twice. If I told my mother right now that I owe 6 of them...I am truly afriad it would kill her. I just cant admit to them that I was this irresponsible again...and perhaps, if I pull myself out of it - whatever that takes- it will make a big enough impression this time that I will never do it again. Trust me-the first two times were so bad, I thought I would never find myself in this situation again. Yet, here I am.

At least I have some new friends...but I sure wish I had been able to meet ya'll at a club or something!

P.S. I have no idea about anonymity....looks good to me though!
