Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan - Can you rely on them?

I spoke to Nataha on the 9th and I was told that my name will be on a refund waiting list. ANd she didnt want to say what day or by how soon because she said she didnt want to lie to me. They lie all the time so I dont really know what shes talking about! Last time I spoke to someone the checks were to be mailed out on the 1st of oct. So I asked her if by Jan I would recieve my 344 that was not paid to my creditors and was taken out in August from my account. She said by then they should. But Im pretty worried at the fact that its been taking this long for us to recieve that months withdrawl back. FOrget the deposit when I stated. Yes it would be nice to recieve that back too, but obviously Credicure or whoever the company was then has that and ran off with our money. But I really hope we get that months back sent to us that has been just floating around. Its hard to believe that the money is still around and that its taken 2months to issue a check back to its clients. Doesn't that sound strange? I heard Richard A brennan was getting married last I spoke to him, and he better have not used our money to pay for that and a house for himself! The most ridiculous thing that R A Brennan told me in August....I asked him why the money was pulled out of my account and its been 3 weeks now and no money was paid to my creditors. He told me that the credit card companys recieved the money that he has the check number and these credit card companys must have cashed the checks. I was in shock! Do you really thing that 12 different credit card companys cashed their check in the same month? How obsurd is this? Little did I know that about 2 weeks later Credicure was going to shut down. How messed up is that to lie to someone and not tell them the truth. He was also trying to get me to settle out and never told me he was going to shut down Credicure. I am pretty gullible and that slime ball is taking advantage of everyone that works hard for there money. SO when I hear about the August payment being mailed back, I reallly want to believe it and I hope it will. But I think thhat when you call and speak to someone they tell you what you want to hear, and I think thats very messed up. WE arent going to go away, you may shoo us for that day but TRUST ME everyone is here to get there money back. In the long run his OFFICE will pay for what they did when someone sues the shit out of them. Have a nice day keeping my fingers crossed!

I guess his office must be up and running again, may need to subject myself to some torture and pick up the phone to find out the status of my refund... I actually haven't spoke to anyone in almost a month. Last I spoke to a Nicole, she said my refund would be in the mail, still haven't seen it. I did get a number from her for USA debt managment. I was able to speak to a very pleasant lady and she told me that if I could get a letter from RA Brennan stating when they stopped making payments, etc. Basically proving they didn't uphold their end of the deal. Well I haven't seen that letter nor the one I needed for my creditors stating I had opted to end the contract. In the mean time I found out that not only they have my August payment of $650, the check they wrote to a creditor in July bounced... so now they owe me August and part of July... I'm out $1000... it sucks... I try to be optimistic that I'll see it again but with all the lies we've all been told it's hard to believe. He can't keep taking advantage of people...

I too am in the same boat as the rest of you. I had been with Credicure since June of 05. Things were going fine until this past Feb. when the payments started coming a few days late. I was concerned, but since the payments were being made, I decided to stay with them. For your own information, I always check my statements against what the dmp says they are making, you have to do that to know if your payments are being made. So, in Aug. my payment did not get made. I tried to cancel my auto-debit, but since I had approved the debit in the first place, the bank would not cancel, however the online bank "teller" called them for me, and I began to find out more information while on the phone to this R.A. Brennan person. She stated all the information that all ya'll already know... The law office can't handle the excessive work load involved in taking over all of Credicure's clients. (Why then did they agree to take it over?) So, RABrennan is turning all their clients over to a new company, that is if you decide not to go with their "settlement" plan, which involves you paying the law office every month until you have a sufficient "balance" in your account, then they will "ask" your creditors if

they will take a lesser amount, getting you out of debt more quickly, but you aren't paying the full amount.

Cont. To make a long story short, RA Brennan has taken out 3 months worth of payments equalling $2.358. I pay them $786 every month. THey have not paid my creditors, and they told me that this new company would be taking over Oct. 1, and that all auto pays would be stopped as of Sept. 15. Well, they debited my account for the month of Oct. and now I am overdrawn almost $300! OF course when I call, all their mailboxes are full.
I did continue to make payments to my crediters during the months of Aug. and SEpt. You have to take matters into your own hands when your credit is being affected. I always watch when my payments are made and for how much. AT the first sign of trouble, I was making phone calls. RA Brennan had told me that all my creditors were aware that they would not be paid for these months until this "merger" went through to this other dmp company. WHen I called my creditors, none of them knew what I was talking about. I think I will take your advice and close my bank account. I just hope that I will get a refund somehow. I can't afford to hire an attorney.

I was also told that after Oct. 1, when the new debt management company took over, there would be an audit, and money would be refunded, and that all direct debits would stop after sept. 15th. Well, guess what.. RA Brennan debited my account AGAIN, on the 11th of Oct., leaving me almost $400 overdrawn. Has anyone gotten any kind of refund? My creditors have not been paid by the law office for 3 months. what do I do??????

To anyone that gets a call from these people pls be sure to ask them what are the attoney fees? I just spoke with someone regarding consolidating PDLs and I told him that I have about $2,000.00 worth. I also informed him that according to what I have read up here in NC by law I can only be forced to pay the principal so that would reduce the amt even more. He then preceeded to do some calculations well, he quoted me $143.00/mo for 24 mos. He stated that it would take 24 mos b/c there are attorney fees involved. I asked what were the fees he said $2500.00. I said no thank you! He said that he calling from Consumer credit counseling and was referred to me by this sight. I agee that I did register but not to pay $2500.00 for less than $2000.00 worth of debt. He then told me that they could take me to court. I informed him that they were all done online and I said I don't think that they will b/c in this state according to this website and what I have read the law is on my side. Hey, look I am not looking for a free ride but I am also not looking for a rip off! My gut tells me that this is one. I know that getting involved with the PDL people will cost you something and getting much needed help will cost, but it should not cost you more than what you owe the vultures that you are dealing with. I don't know about you but I do not have a extra $2500.00 to give to someone that I will probably never even speak to. My advice is no matter how dire you believe the situation to be, never let desperation over rule your common sense!!!!!

This joke of a law firm and i contracted for them to settle out my accounts "in full" for a lump sum. i sent them $2500.00 the first week of July. Guess what? They took the money and ran. Didn't contact any of my creditors, are impossible to contact and have left me high and dry. If you hhave not already been taken by Richard Brennan and his disgustingly unprofessional and unfriendly staff...THEN DON'T. RUN WHILE YOU CAN.

What do you mean they ran with your money? they didnt run they are still there. Were you with the company before in a dmp? If you were and know what its like to get screwed by them, then you shouldnt have given them all of that money and settle. TO late to go with someone else now. They do answer there phone, just a pain to get a hold of and remember they are on the east coast. If anyone gets there refund back from AUG let me know! please...let everyone on here know. thanks! but im really starting to give up and feel like that money won't come back to us. It cant possibly take 2 and a half months for a return. I think that when we call they just tell us what we want to hear.

I had Consumer Credit Counselors of America call me after registering at this sight. I ended up deciding not to use them because of a better offer. They are stating the frist fee WHICH has not been drawn out of my account yet is non refundable. Well come to find out all the paper work I got in the mail to fill out (have not sent back yet and I am not going to) is from the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan. I only see a couple things on the forms they sent me that states CCCA and that is the mailing and e-mail address. I did not enter into and agrement with Richard Brennan law firm. I thought I was entering into and agrement with CCCA. I am trying to take care of my bank account on this end so funds are not taken out. I am also going to report them to the BBB and anyone else about the wrong doings of this firm. I looked CCCA on the BBB website with the address that is on the paper work I got and this is what it said.
Customer Experience Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to one or more unresolved complaints.Most of on here are here for a purpose and that is to get out of debt and help and support each other, but then some people are getting in the hole futher becuase of people like the law offices of Richard A. Brennan. I work hard and am having a hard time paying my bills. I cannot afford to be taken advantage of and this is what I feel is happening to me.

Dear nas866-- I do not believe that RA Brennan law has such a bad record with the BBB. I went online yesterday to make a complaint, and they are a satisfactory cient, and much to my shock, they only have 1 complaint against them!
EVERYONE--go to the BBB website, type in RA Brennan's phone# (866)892-1055 and file a complaint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I did not type in RA Brennan, for I could not find them. I typed in CCCA with their address and that is where I got the Unsatisfactory. I will go back and check it out, because I am going to list both RA Brenna and CCCA of North Andover, MA with them. Maybe it will help others not get into a bad situation with them.

I have posted a complaint with the BBB a couple weeks ago...I used the name Law Office of Richard Brennan. RA law office told me my refund was mailed out on Tuesday. Haven't received it yet.
