So I just got a letter in the mail from the LORAB telling me that I needed to fill out the form for Consumers Alliance Processing Corp in Carlsbad, CA to continue my dmp needs. When I called them to instead ask for my money back, Erica N took my phone call and informed me that I needed to contact LORAB for my refund.

I told her that it wasn't necessary as the LORAB made it clear to me on a phone call on 9/18/06 with Heather that I had to wait, since my money was in Escrow with the new DMP Company. She said that was not true. That the new DMP in fact did not have my money. She gave me four telephone numbers to contact LORAB myself to request for my refund.
She gave me the following numbers:
    (800) 989-6590, (866) 892-1055, (240) 252-3452, (877) 895-1607
.
I told her that it was not possible to contact LORAB as they don't answer faxes, phones or voicemail because the voicemail is full. I advised her to contact her manager and let them know what to expect. It's been my understanding from reading everyone's post's that we are suppose to expect our money from the new DMP Company. She said she was emailing her supervisor with the heads up. Then she tried to get me to signing up with her company. I told her there was no way in the world i would go to a DMP again, especially one that charged me $40 a month and had no internet, real time information about my account and payments.

Yesterday afternoon, I spent a delightful day filling out complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, BBB in Maryland, Office of the Attorney General in Maryland, Illinois Attorney General, and the Office the Governer (IL).

I implore everyone to place take the time to contact all these places (as they relate to the state you live in) and report what has happened to you. Somebody has to be able to stop LORAB from doing this to anymore people. The New DMP Company that our accounts are being sold to, they aren't going to do a DAMN thing to help us.

I wish I would've done a little more research before signing up with this company. Noone answers the phones. Noone returns phone calls and not one of my creditors have been paid, yet money has been taken from my checking account. Is there a reputable credit consolidator that will help me with my debt?

helpme, there are many of us that didn't have the option of signing up. I was a Nexum client (with whom I had a good relationship, I have to admit) and they sold out to Credicure which then sold out to LORAB. They are passing us off one to the other while holding onto our money. How many of us on here have lost $500-$1000+, and we're just the tip of the iceberg. They have a great scam going!

Thanks for the message about Consumer Alliance. I looked it up and CONSUMER Alliance is a utility company. I actually transferred to CAPC and they have been so nice and helpful. If you're looking up Consumers Alliance Processing Corporation, I didn't see a lawsuit, am I missing something? Good luck with with Brennan - I haven't gotten anywhere but at least now I'm back on track.

I too am a victom. I am new to the site but I have been reading for weeks. RAB has taken my money as well. It makes me sick to my stomach to see how many people have been screwed. I call his office EVERY day, send obnoxious amounts of email, send faxes and leave numerous emails without any response. I have faxed the refund request form in October. All the people in this office give me story after different story. Long story short, I talked to my caseworker@ BBB today and he told me there were soooooo many complaints with RAB that the director was handling all cases with this loser. I WILL NOT give up, I want my money!!!!!

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 1:50 pm Subject: Initial Payment Refund

If you are like me and signed up initially with United Christian Financial who passed the account over to Credicure, and payed an initial payment that was to be refunded upon completion of the program, YOU CAN GET THAT BACK! Call United Christian Financial at 800-621-7806, let them know you are calling to receive the refundable first payment. They will pass the information on to the appropriate department. Expect to receive a call back from their greivance dept with Fidelity Reserves, who will fax you a form to fill out. Since the form only has a couple of lines to complete your complaint, you will probably need to type up a detailed explanation of the situation. I was informed that the situation fell under "extenuating circumstances" that entitled me to a refund. The refund was processed and I was told it was mailed on Tuesday.

Don't think that the initial payment is a lost cause just because Richard Brennan's office staff say that it is. The staff at Fidelity Reserves are very nice and cooperative. I highly recommend that you call to try to obtain that refund!

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:42 pm Subject: Nexum

Nexum did not sell out to CrediCure. Nexum closed its doors in conjunction with a settlement with IRS. They were part of the AmeriDebt conglomerate and to avoid prosecution, the company closed its doors. AmeriDebt's for profit processing company, Ballenger Group, LLC, was forced via court action, to both close and cede Nexum's accounts to CrediCure, also pursuant to settlement.

CrediCure ultimately had to close as well, due to the IRS changes in rules enforcement. When this was done, multiple issues arose affecting CrediCure clients. The Law Offices has desperately attempted to keep up with both the volume of complaints and issues attached thereunto. Many clients were affected by the client trust accounts being behind and delays in clients acknowledging payments. Unfortunately there are multiple issues involved, which cause delays of three months or so in resoloution.

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:46 pm Subject: CAPC

The law offices have attempted to get every former CrediCure client quickly to CAPC. Due to CrediCure's lost data, there have been delays. The transfer was supposed to be accomplished October 1, 2006. Delays in recovering data required those clients to hold off until November 1. In the interim, all client payments made in October were mailed out, USPS to each consumer's creditors. We have again desparately attempted to either resolve the issue quickly or contact the consumers. Our phone server keeps crashing due to the volume of calls and the fact it was not designed for such high volume. We do apologize for this and are working on a new phone system.

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:51 pm Subject: Those who have posted

Please mail a detailed explanation of what you believe has happened to us at 6809 D Bowmans Crossing, Frederick, MD 21703. Thus far, our investigation indicates that CrediCure, pursuant to credit counseling industry practice pooled everyone's money in client trust account. When my office began transferring clients to a new agency in July, we found that the client trust account was behind. We apologize for the delays and problems, however we did not cause the issue. We are now swamped with correcting the issues caused by this and similar, related issues. We were not a large firm, and this issue has nearly bankrupted the firm as we have not made any money out of this. Our records distinctly show that each payment was carefully accounted for and remitted. No payments or monies went to the law office except those fees which were accounted for in the client agreements. These fees were used to cover CrediCure's outstanding expenses from its closure.

We only want to fix anything we are able to fix and not be blamed for what we did not create.

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:59 pm Subject: Phone system

Every time I see or hear a complaint about phone calls here, I know those people have not READ earlier posts. Our phone system has been fried by the volume of calls because the VOIP system was not designed to handle large volumes. To give you an idea, when we first represented CrediCure on its closure issues, this office had only five personnel. Five. One attorney. One paralegal. Three legal assistants. At that time, the Law Offices had 3 corporate clients, and 202 personnal clients. A staff of five cannot field calls from 4000 consumers. A phone system designed for five people cannot handle calls from 4000 consumers. The ONLY method of orderly issue handling of that magnitude is email. Even then, five people cannot research and resolve 4000 concerns. Keep in mind that this staff of five was designed to handle less than 1000 issues PER YEAR. The staff has been overworked, underpaid, yelled at, cursed, disgusted, and disrespected despite giving their best effort. Finding qualified and capable people to handle this issue has been time consuming and more costly than the firm can handle. The Law Office's clients suffered all summer long as we struggled to get ahead of your concerns and issues. We attempted to place you with a new agency as quickly as possible to keep from having these issues occur. What happened was that as we did so, we found more issues that were lurking under the surface.

We only ask for a bit of patience as we attempt to get caught up now that all former CrediCure clients have been placed with other agencies.

PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 4:52 pm Subject: Dear Richard

Richard,
I personally do not care your firm was not prepared to take on such “problems.” I do not care how you ended up with my account. I do not care your phones don’t support the flooding of calls. Well maybe if all clients were “in the loop” of what was going on in the beginning instead of finding out that our creditors were not getting paid by all the phone calls from them then maybe we could all show some compassion. Instead you leave us with rude, unfriendly people to deal with that tell a different story every time you call. Can you imagine our position, you are quick to defend your firm, take a ride in our boat. In my personal situation 3 months of ACH withdrawals were made from your firm from my checking and none of that money was disbursed to any creditors. I have documentation, I have all statements. In the meantime I have paid all my creditors off in full to get them off my back and to try and save my credit score that you so easily made drop. I email your office EVERY day, I even personally email you. I email Natasha, Mattea, and the general email box all day long. I send faxes all the time, I leave message after message on Tiffany’s, Natasha’s, Mattea’s, and Suma’s lines EVERY day (not to mention your general mailbox.) Guess what? NO RESPONSE IN 3 WEEKS! Even in your rebuttal to my BBB complaint you vaguely dance around my immediate concern of my refund and offer me a general mailbox number to call you at. Thanks, great customer service you have there. I know for a fact the people you did hire have never worked in customer service a day in their lives because they are all rude and unfriendly (oh I think I already mentioned that.) I would be fired in a minute if I treated my customers that way. Bottom line, I want my money back that your firm withdrew from my account and did not disburse. I want an apology. I want my credit repaired. Most of all give me my refund, better yet let me talk to someone that knows anything about my refund. Some of your employees say, oh I don’t know, you will get it when you get it. Some say, oh its alphabetical, you will have to wait until we get to the “M”s. Are you kidding me? I want to be acknowledged, I want my money. I invite you to call me. Just listen to your voicemail, or read your email my number is there. Not a general mailbox number, my personal cell phone number. Clear your name, I dare you!

I too have paid off all my balances in full due to the non payments of RA Brennans office. My credit dropped 300 points, because for 2 months none of the 11 creditors had recieved payment. I was thrown off the proposals and everything became a joke. If his company doesn't have the resources they need to give our money back, then they won't even be able to find the time to repair our credit. THEN HIRE MORE PEOPLE!
Some companys for debt management charge 14.00 a month and sent you statments EVERY MONTH and someone is there to answer your call 24 hours! But after my experience with RA BRENNANS office, never will I go to another debt management company. Ask your family for a loan, or get a loan from the bank. You cannot trust no one! Everyone just tells you what you want to hear at his office, and everytime you call, its a different story! WOW! What a shock! How much longer do we need to wait? Its already been 2 months. 6 months? 1 year? By then it will be too late!
Call you bank, I reported it as fraud for the month of August 28th that was deducted and NOT PAID to my creditors. They are investigating it, and when they refund me back, RA BREANNANS office will have to pay the bank back! You can do this even if you closed your bank account, like I did. But it needs to be done asap. I would have done this sooner but was waiting for the office to send our refunds out sometime in October.

From the previous page - the refund of the initial payment is not coming from Richard Brennan's office. They were not even involved with obtaqining that refund. If you look at your documents, you will see that the initial payment went to United Christian Financial, not Credicure/Richard A Brennan. Typically, you do need to complete the program to receive that first payment back, however with a letter describing the details as to why I was not able to complete the program (the lack of payments and response from Brennan) they felt that was "extenuating circumstances" that qualified me to receive the refund. No matter what your dealings have been with Brennan's office, call the number for United Christian Financial onthe previous page and talk to them about that refundable first payment.

Thanks for the info about the refund. I spoke to them at United Cristian Finanacial...and told them I paid everything off that I owed..there was no way I was going to give RA BRENNAN 8 grand. For him not to pay my criditors and to chase him down for not paying them. I had 344 taken from me that wasnt paid and that was enough of an eye opener for me not to let them touch my bank account. I did speak to someone there and they were supposto send me a fax, and I didnt get it. I will try again on Monday to contact them. Please let me know if you recieve your refund back. Good luck!

PostPosted: Sat Nov 25, 2006 1:02 am Subject: Law Offices Of Richard A. Brennan

As I've mentioned in previous messages, the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan ripped me off for $1500. I had to put two stop payments on my checking account so that his company couldn't take any more of my money. And this was after I had sent them two registered letters stating that I no longer wanted to be a client of their firm. I have yet to receive any money back and know I never will. Last month, I had to file for bankruptcy! I was never behind on my credit card payments before but wanted a way to manage my debts. Brennan's office ruined my credit and caused me an enormous amount of stress. I had to even diconnect my home phone because of daily calls from my creditors. I'm now left broke and humilitated by this experience.
