Interesting take on the advertising. One that I share. What I advise, is to research the fees in your state, and choose an agency which allows you to watch your money via an online statement or something similar. Also, be advised that under the IRS guidelines, the primary business of a non profit credit counseling industry MAY NOT be debt management plans. I advise that you speak to one that does not push you into a dmp.

Since this Law Office is closed between now and October 9th, does this mean the Law Office will be issueing refunds this week? I continue to get the runaround from their employees. First, on 9/7/06, I cancelled my service and demanded my August payment asap. I spoke with a girl named Nicole. She told me I would get it in two weeks. I then called on 9/20/06 and spoke to Nataya (a supervisor). She told me their "systems" were down, and that I would receive it BY October 1st. I had her repeat what she said, just so I heard her clearly. I called back on 9/29/06 and spoke to a Tiffany (after leaving two messages for the supervisor Nataya, I decided to speak to someone else). I wanted to find out if my refund was mailed out yet. She said it would be today. She forgot to mention the fact they would be closed this week. What I don't understand, is why I keep getting told lies by these unprofessional employees. If nothing was done with this money (and nothing was, because no payments went out to creditors), then why is it so difficult to get our money back? I am waiting on this to pay my creditors for that missed month. This law office has done nothing but cause frustration and problems. Everyone should have the right to cancel and receive their deposit back. It is not our problem Credicure went out of business.

I understand that Credicure went out of business.
I am one of the lucky who has been able to close my accounts out, except for the balance DUE TO ME by RA Brennan's office for the final payment they received on 8/1. I was told that it was put in the mail 3 weeks ago. I'm 99% sure this didnt happen, b/c its 10/2 and still nothing. I invite a phone call from you, Mr Brennan. I'd just like to get this resolved so I can be one less person "clogging" the phone lines.

VBair--you go right ahead and do what you want to do. Nice that you have $$$ for a lawyer but not for bills. It seems that this guy is trying to be helpful. Keep you crappy comments to yourself.

DO NOT ALLOW R.A. Brennan's Law Offices to handle your debt management / credit counseling payments!
They will take it out promply from your bank account on the first of the month, and before you know it, you'll be 2 or more months behind on payments, and they won't return your phone calls or e-mails. You'll call them, and their voice mail is "full". If you do get lucky enough to talk to one of them, they'll try to talk you into "going to settlement"...meaning settling with your creditors for less than what you owe...that means ruining your credit for Lord knows how long. I started with a company called Credicure, which was then later taken over by R A Brennan. As soon as he got his hooks in my program, the payments to the cards started being late. At the moment, I have cut him off, no longer allowing his "law office" to withdraw money from my bank, and my bank is now launching a fraud investigation against him. I have asked my card companies for referrals to a REPUTABLE program, and they have been willing to assist. There is a way out of his scam if your bank is willing to help, so help yourself out and cancel any access you allow him to have to your bank. Oh, and if his employees tried to tell you they are passing your account to a company called "Consumer Alliance"...go ahead and try calling the phone number they give you. It doesn't exist! This guy is a fraud, and so are the people who work for him who tell you "don't worry, we'll fix it". If you're involved with his firm in any way, get out quick! Right now, I've got the BBB of Maryland looking at him, as well as the Banking and Securities Commission in the state where Credicure used to be, and the Attorney General's Office of Maryland. Maybe if enough people bring enough heat, he'll go to jail where he belongs. He's a crook.

Guest ~ I am guessing that VBair is trying to pay his/her bills, after all he/she went into a debt consolidation program. Or maybe, like me, he/she happens to have a friend that is an attorney. If Mr. Brennan was trying to be helpful, he would refund us our money so we could pay our creditors, since it is obvious they are not paying them.

I don't think you have any idea how stressful it is to get calls constantly demanding money. Money that you paid in good faith to a company to take care of them for you. We are the clients. They work for us and they are not doing what they are paid to do! Why is it a "crappy comment" to object to being treated like crap?

Enough with the excuses. Just give me back my freaking money so I can pay my creditors.

Hey I would like to know also if anyone got the money back that was pulled from my account just like Crystal said. Im not even****ing about the deposit of 400. I just want last months returned to me. I spoke to somone in September telling me to email her and I also closed my bank account. Because I dont trust the system or what anyone tells me anymore. I was told that the August payment that was taken out, is just sitting there and will be returned to me sometime in October. I better get that check back, or else I will raise hell with RA brennan. Was anyone told that we would get that month sent back to us?

NOTE>> R A BRENNAN wrote earlier a while back to a post stating to email him and that ALL emails get returned. Hes full of shit. I have re-sent the same email every week for the past month and still havent received a response. He told everyone on here to email him instead of****ing on here about the issues because he doesnt know the identity of any of us. So I guess the best thing is to call when they return on Oct. 9th....and clog up the phone lines and annoy the hell out of them until I get my August payment back. T

You know whats funny? I just received a voicemail from a girl named Nikki that works there, asking what I want to do with my account...she was the person I spoke with to cancel my account! I spoke with her on 9/7/06 and she told me they would stop taking payments out of my account and to send a cancellation letter. She also told me that I would get my August payment back two weeks from that date. Its really nice how they don't remember their coversations. This goes to show that the words that are coming out of their mouths are bull...maybe we should start recording our conversations...i'm not sure about anyone else, but these employees haven given me nothing but false information.

Everything they say is a bunch of bull. Like oh well take care of it or by this date you will recieve so and so. Oh and as for the payment I was told it should go out the 1st week of Oct. But with the shit going on with the phones and them not returning until the 9th, I would give it until closer to the end of october. DO we have to send a letter out to cancel? because I never did, I sent an email. But knowing how they are, they probably didnt recieve that either! MY bank account is closed anyways. But everyone call on Ocotober 9th, just dont sit and wait. Call and find out whats going on.

I want you to know, I will not go away. I will contact every applicable authority. I will contact your State AG, my State AG, the BBB, the FBI and the Secret Service (since this is potentially banking fraud), and the media. I will not stop until I am refunded my money.
