Does anyone know how long it takes an ACH reject to get back to the lender? Is it instant or a few days? For example, if the reject occurs on a Friday, when can I expect the lender to get the response and contact me or attempt another withdrawal?

I think it depends on the company. I've had some that knew the next day, and some that took 2-3 days to realize they didn't receive a payment.

I think set4sail is right. When I pay someone using an ACH, sometimes it takes 2 to 3 days for it to it show up in my bank account--so I would only guess that its the same in reverse.

i have seenit take up to 10 days before they figured out the payment was stopped or rejected.

Ive had one company tell me that they couldnt see the ach clear from their account until like 3-5 business days after they hit my account. I was trying to get a loan from them right after paying one off, so they had me print out the bank statement from online to show them the last payment cleared.
