Anonymous call from 801-437-3150 - What to do?

If you get an anonymous call from the telephone number 801-437-3150 it is Western Wealth Care, a telemarketing agency. There are numerous such telemarketing agencies like Western Wealth Care who call the customers not only at their home numbers but also at their office numbers. If you feel disturbed by these calls, you can try not to pick up these calls by saving these numbers in your telephone in the "Blocked Call List". Moreover, the recently amended Telemarketing Sales Rule of the Federal Trade Commission established the "Do not call registry system" which makes it easier for customers to cut down the number of unwanted sales call they get everyday.

The "Do not call registry" can be done by calling the number 1-888-382-1222 from the number you want to register. This registration is free of charge. Alternatively, you visit the link https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx for "do not call registry". For registering over the net all you need to provide is your phone number and work email address. Within 31 days of registry, you can expect a huge decline in these telesales call. After 31 days of your registry if you still receive any calls, you can file a complaint by visiting the link https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx or by calling the toll free helpline number 1-888-382-1222.

Although National Call registry puts a bar on most telemarketing calls, both anonymous as well as identified, you will continue to receive calls from or behalf of from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors. As for example, Mountain West Research Center (calling from 208-232-1818) or Western Wats of Utah (calling from 801-373-7735) are market research companies, which do not come under "do not call registry". Moreover, companies with which you have an already established business relationship can call you up to 18 months of your last purchase.

The Collection Agencies are also one of the exceptions to "do not call registry". You can stop these collection agencies from calling by sending a "cease and desist" letter. If they still call you, you may get in touch with an attorney dealing with lawsuits of FDCPA violations and at the same time file a complaint against the company with the FTC.

All,
Received 3 calls from this number today. As usual, no message(s) left behind.

Have no idea who it would be, or what they want.

A quick search indicates a Salt Lake City, UT numer, but nothing else to be found.

As always, any information greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Since this is a telemarketer, did you sign up for the Do Not Call List? If not a referral to the FBI wont do you much good. IF so then you need to report it to the FTC.

On the complaint form you can either put both business and phone number or just the phone number.

Figure it would be nice to include a company name when filing a complaint. But, I'll put phone number if that's all I can get.

This company refuses to leave us alone. We have told them on numerous occasions to stop calling us, and to take us off of their call list. They called yet again (for the 5th time) this morning. I told them not to call again and we're not interested in what they are offering us, nor in completing their survey. The lady then proceeded to demand I place the male of the household on the phone. Extremely rude!

I did a search online for this company, and the information to file a complaint is as follows:

Mountain West Research
775 Yellowstone
Pocatello, ID 83201
801-437-3150

I would urge anyone and everyone receiving harassment from this company to file a complaint with the BBB.

And now that I have more information to go by, I'm also going to file a complaint, as it relates to the local/national NO CALL list!
I'm on both, I've sent them a DV letter, stating contact by Mail only. And today, I had 2 more phone calls, no messages.
Will let folks know what becomes of my complaint(s).

I thought that once you were on the do not call list that researchers or surveyors were not suppose to call. Guess I learn something new everyday from this website.

I have gotten calls from them the last 5 nights running. Tonight I got one call and told them not to call again. An hour later I got another call. I told the woman I was on the no-call list and she said they were exempt because they weren't selling anything. I told her I wanted to be taken off her list and she started asking questions about '... was I the decision maker for primary health care for someone or something...' I told her no, take me off her list and terminated the call. She was still going on about how important it was that I answer her questions. I hung up.

They ARE exempt from the do-not-call list, BUT they are not exempt from not calling when they are asked not to. If they call again, as soon as they start talking ask to speak to a supervisor. Respond to every one of their questions, with asking to speak to a supervisor.

Or have a little fun with them, and answer their questions with funny answers...lol

"Do you have health insurance?"
"No...The voices don't believe in health insurance"
"What do you do when you get sick?"
"I puke" lol
