I received an email only a month ago from 1st Credit of America saying they now had my CheckNGo account. So yesterday, I now receive in the mail from Apelles that they now have the account. It's ironic that I sent 1st Credit of America a validation letter for this account and then they sent it on to Apelles (another CA) for collection. Who should I believe and what should I do?

DO NOT trust First Credit of America. They are junk debt buyers and nine times out of ten they don't actually have the debt. First Credit of America from my experience does not validate.

One of our Check N Go pdl's when to Apelles and they are working with T&C. We got a letter in the mail and I just faxed it to T&C and they took care of it from there. Haven't heard a word since. If you're with T&C they'll take care of it for you.

Won't Check N Go accept payment from you any more? Have you contacted them?

No when we went into consolidation they told me it would go to collections. Our credit is awful anyways but I haven't seen this on either one of our credit reports (yet at least). As long as they accept payments through T&C I am okay with it.

I have 2 pdls out and need to have them taken care of. Also I have a couple of other things that I am paying on also. i am only late on one and have not defaulted on the pdls yet. On 6/9 I will go into default with them.

Did you try something from your side and talk with the lenders? Explain your situation and offer some repayment plans. Since you are willing to pay the account, they might like to offer you extensions. Many lenders are easy to work with. You must take this initiative and get some benefits
