Has anyone ever heard of Route 66 Funding? They have never sent me any paperwork, I can't find them on the internet, and the emails they've sent me have no address information whatsoever. They're calling my office 3 or 4 times a day and it's always a guy who barely speaks English on the phone who just says I owe them money. I have to ask 2 or 3 times what company he is with before he tells me, and then when I ask for the address he hangs up. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Could not locate them on the net. How did you apply to this loan?

Online, and then they called me to verify info, which is pretty much the same way I applied to all the other PDL companies.

Do you have any paperwork? Can you mention which site it was you applied through?

If he is hanging up when you ask for the address, it sounds pretty leary to me. Can you go through your old bank statements to find the name they debited your account with? Online payday lenders are hard to track down sometimes because they want to avoid the law or have affiliate names they use.

The name on my bank statement shows up as Route 66 Funding, but I can't find them anywhere on the internet, including an application page like the one I filled out, and they never sent me any paperwork or anything. The last time they called my office phone (for about the fourth time today) I told the guy to call T&C and discuss payment with them, and he mumbled something like "No no, we no can do, you must pay us! Now!" and then hung up again.

I remember seeing them somewhere online but I can't remember. It was months ago when I was in the payday loan cycle. If I remember right, they might be an affiliate of Cash Today.

I'll see if I can locate them using that; thanks for the tip!

If they can't be located in America, and the reps are not fluent in English, then they are located outside of the country. Apparently working an "American" job at an "American" company without paying American taxes. You don't have to deal with third party collectors anyways! Just take it up with the original creditor.

That's a good point. Unfortunately, I think they are the original creditor, not a collection company (as far as I know), because that was the name on the email they sent me, and that was the name on the debit from my bank account. So that's why I'm concerned and trying to find out their address or something.

I received a loan from them also. I do not want them to take out the entire amount and cannot find them online or a phone#. I hope they call me before debiting my account.

I doubt if they will ever contact you by their own, unless you put a stop payment on your account.

This company taps into the websites containing information of people who are looking for short term loans. I have also gotten several calls from these people because I applied for a loan online. They do not speak English well and thanks to privacy manager they cannot get through to me. They have gotten me at work and I have told them I am not interested in taking out a loan with them. They are persistent. I hope this helps. I do not believe they are reputable and would steer clear of them.

I had to borrow money from them to get everything ready for a refinance of my home which supposedly would pay all my creditors and the pay advance people as well. But it fell through and I declared bankruptcy. So, my attorney wants the actual physical address of these creditors. I call them, but they are tight-lipped about where they are. One said that they were in the UK. So, I can just give my attorney a fax number and hope that it is sufficient.
