If United is in fact affilliated with Rio Resources, LLC then here is what I know...

I contacted the administrator for the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Protections over a payday loan company operating as MTE Financial, DBA Rio Resources. They are/or were locted in New Mexico but are also located in Miami, OK. According to the information I recieved from the Oklahoma Dpt of Consumer Protection, they have had many complaints. Problem is....they are Native Americans and operating on Indian land under tribal sovereignty which exempts them from state laws. I was told some experts were being called in to investigate these complaints. This explains why their contracts are so illusive and only request that you agree to abide by the laws under which they are goverened. They do not disclose that they are under tribal law and exempt from state laws. Very sneaky. You would think a Federal law (they have to abide by these) would force tribes to inform consumers that they are in fact operating under tribal law. This is where they try to get you..they word their contracts to make you believe they are operating under SOME state law, not tribal which is completely different and very difficult to navigate legally. Thought everyone might need to know this. Sucks that they can be so sneaky and use their sovereignty to trap unsespecting consumers. Because the Fair Credit Collection Act is Federal Law...they do need to abide by this. If you are involved with a company that you suspect may be Indian owned, I would check with your AG in the state you live in to see what they suggest you do. I have no problems with doing business with Native Americans, but I do not think they should be able to use "sovereignty" and immunity to blatantly decieve consumers. This has to stop and our laws need to change and demand that sovereignty be disclosed to consumers and that consumers be made aware their state laws are unable to protect them in the event of a breech.

P.S. I don't know if they are connected, but strongly suspect that they are.

You can check with the licensing authority in Texas for information about United Cash Loans. I guess they are not licensed in Texas. Try this link.

http://www.tded.state.tx.us/guide/C.htm

Please confirm with the Attorney General of Texas for accurate information.

Sarah, United Cash Loans is part of MTE and they are not licensed anywhere . They are very illegal. You need to close your checking account asap so that they can no longer debit your account. Closing your account is the onky way to get them to stop.

I took out 2 loans one with AMeriloan and one with United Cash Loan. Immediately after the loan, I noticed unauthorized debits to my checking account. I went to the bank and they placed my account on limited status. I reopened an account in a different bank and shortly after the first payment, I noticed several more unauthorized debits. Again, placed this account on limited status on the advice of my bank. I notified both companies that the account was compromised and asked for alternative payment options. No one responded. I sent several emails. The only email I received was on payment due date that I needed to notify them. If they could send me that email why not send me an address. United now says my loan is up to 750 from 450 even though they were told not to debit the accounts. What do I do. They want to set up payment plans with a prepaid VISA. I can't afford 750. God know what AMeriloan wants to charge me.

how much was borrowed from each and how much was debited by each before the account was compromised.since both are MTE and illegal you only owe the principle.a prepaid visa sounds good, but you do not owe either place more than you originally borrowed.

just the particulars.your state pdl laws.how much you borrowed, and the fact that what they debited thus far paid the loan off.also state you are filing AG,and FTC complaints, but don't state that unless you follow through with it.

Hi

Just to let you know that payday loans are not legal in all the states of the US.So if the payday loans are being lend to customers in those states a law suit can be filed against them,so one need not worry much about that.If there is any sort of creditor harassment in regards to the payday loans one is free to sue against the licensor of the company.

If a payday lender isn't legal or licensed, how do you propose someone sue them, most of the payday lenders who aren't licensed aren't even located in the states.
