I have seven payday loans five of which I have already paid well over the original loan amount. My question is do they have any legal standing if they have collected the original loan amount plus fees to be able to get more money?

Jen,
You need to check you state usurious laws as well as licensing for Money transmitters/pdls. As far as legal battles with them, unless you want to hire an attorney, it may be difficult fighting them yourself. You can easily just stop paying them, but then your credit could be ruined if they report it, and also the harrassment of the collection companies. It may be better if you call them and try to work something out with them. Some will work with you and if you persevere, they may settle for less than you owe. Whatever you do, don't take any more loans with them! |

I am here to make sure loan companies get a fair shake, and to make the people of this forum straighten up and take responsibility for their actions.
I know the people on this forum SAY they are taking responsibility for their actions and you are to a certain extent. I would say the average person on this forum takes about 75% responsibility. And then they try to push the rest off on everybody but themselves. I will explain so I can make myself perfectly clear. If you took out a loan, you owe the principal and ALL FEES that went along with it. Which means if your loan was for 300 and you didnt pay for 5 months before you closed your account you are responsible for every one of those finance charges and return fees. If you have a credit card account you are responsible for every penny you spent and every fee the collection company or credit card company should choose to tack on. You do not have the right to complain about a collection company no matter how "mean" they maybe. The people on this forum are quick to point the finger at others an cry foul, but you tend to forget you STOLE from these companies. The loaned you $300 and you didn't pay it back, you got a credit card and maxed it out buying God knows what and then you didnt pay them back. AND NOW THEY WANT THEIR MONEY BACK, WHAT A SHOCKER. Who cares if you dont want to deal with the 3rd party collector, you chose not to take care of your responsibilites on time, and not you HAVE to deal with the 3rd party. I wish more companies had the power to garnish wages. I think it would be a slap in the face to society. HEY WAKE UP!!!! For too long Americans have been coddled, and hidden from the harsh reality that life is not fair. Not anymore, WEST TEXAS is here with a wake up call. Do me favor DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS WITH ANY OF YOUR SAD STORIES OF WOE. You are not the only ones that have suffered. If you had any idea what real pain and anguish is all about you would know that you cant fix those problems in a forum. You have to get up, wipe the blood from your mouth, dust yourself off and scratch and claw yourself back out of the hole...ON YOUR OWN. The true american way. This is called True Grit. Why dont you people try it sometime instead of hiding behind BullS*** laws that screw the people that worked hard to get were they are. You want to get out of debt. It's real easy, get another job, already have 2 try a 3rd. I did. 4 was my number, but I forgot it's easier to take the lazy way out and complain about harsh practices and "illegal" companies, and BLAH BLAH BLAH the same old things this forum always cries about. You want out of debt than WORK. Sacrifice Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, duct tape shoes together, sell plasma, live on PB&J's and Beanie Weenies. I did. BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST QUIT CRYING AND JUST DO IT. Stop making yourselves out to be victims. Your Not. The companies you stole from are. WEST TEXAS OUT |

I wonder sometimes if these people that come in here throwing their attitude, have any kind of a life, or if they come in here to make us feel even worse than we already do. They need to understand we all have had a hard time and have learned from our mistakes.

Arlene must be the only one that does chat. She is the one that I did a chat session with a while back. Okay she claimed they were a member, right? Well according to the BBB they are not a member. And they don't have businesses in the US, so why do they use the addresses in Oaks, PA and Delaware? Good going polly.

That's hysterical...see what kind of idiots we have been dealing with there?
These people that come on here and bash us need to take a really good look at this. It's funny that their only argument is, "you signed the contract!" HA! Contracts can be broken! |

Very funny of the customer care! If they are doing their business legally, why do they hesitate in giving out the information? Guess, Arlene must have gone to the loo to relax after terminating this strong chat session!!
