I sent off "the letter" to another online payday lender this morning and got an email already that that have "written off" the remaining balance. Yeah, one more down!! Good for me!! Smile

GW Financial...sent that one off on a whim this morning after putting the $$ together of what I had paid them and got the response in like an hour.

its amazing how quickly they settle when faced with the facts.. yet again more proof that they understand there legal position very well and that they know when push comes to shove they are likely to lose.

Could you pm me the letter you sent to the PDL I would like to get some of mine written off even though they are now with T&C - will they do that if they are with a debt company?

I'd like that letter to as I've have a loan with GW that I've had since January. It's a $300 loan and I've paid them $48 to renew every two weeks since then.

It seems many people are having wonderful success when confronting these slime balls with facts and the laws, which is great! Congratulations!

I hate to be a party pooper, but I would like to throw a word of caution out there to keep an eye on your credit reports and make sure these people who are being so agreeable today don't turn around tomorrow and report it as a charge off. Make sure you keep your documentation in a safe accessible place for at least the next 10 years, so you can dispute any false repostings with the CRA.

I really don't want to be the bad guy, but lets face it, we aren't exactly dealing with upstanding and honorable members of the community here.

Oh Clay---thats really good food for thought. I definitely think thats good advice to be caution of. very good of you to point that out. And I totally agree about hanging on to all paperwork for at least 10 years!!!
