Is it Bahamas payday loan? You can call them at 1-866-224-8776 and request for the latest statement of your debt account.

I took out a payday loan from a website (not sure which one to be honest) and I have recently moved. I tried to get in touch with the company over the last few months, but no luck. I recieve a call today from 888-898-1896 telling me that I have to pay the entire balance ($820) by 2pm today or the affidavit's will be processed and legal action will follow. I explained to this person (who claims to be from pre-litigation) that I could possibly pay half that amount today, but I couldn't pay the whole thing. She said that she would contact her client (B&L Marketing) and see if that would be acceptable. It's been about 4 hours and I've called her back, and she's claiming that she cannot get in touch with them. If these "affidavit's" do go out, what kind of legal action am I facing?

Have you checked if Pre-litigation is making a genuine collection for B&L Marketing? Under the federal laws, the CA is required to send you something in writing that proves about their legal collection procedures. The company must validate the debt before attempting collections. If you have not received anything in the mail, send a letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will be your important legal move of taking responsibility of this matter in the first place.

Know your rights under the FDCPA. Do not get intimidated by any collection agency. Most of them use scary tactics of collections which is illegal. Do not get scared of the jail threats. It's only a word and nothing can be done on this context. Cover your legal factors.

I need to get in contact with someone at B&L Marketing...I took out a loan with some internet payday loan service that is fianance with B&L. I've been getting phone calls from someone in Pre-litigation named Casey Worman, claiming that I'm about to have legal action taken against me. I told her that I'd been advised by my attorney not to send ANY money to somone who's just calling me on the phone, since I have yet to receive anything in writing...can anyone help?

Gretchin,

I have recieved NOTHING in the mail about this matter, everything has been over the telephone. I attempted to give this Casey Worman my attorney's information, but she quickly just told me to give my attorney her information and hung up on me.

I have a payday loan with them and I have been trying to locate a phone number for them. They continually take out more than I borrowed. Need to get ahold of them. If any one knows the number I would appreciate it if you could post it.
Thanks

You need to close your checking account immediately and stop the company debiting from your account. Later, the company will contact you asking for money. Get the statements showing all the payments done in the past before you make further commitment. Here is their address:

M1Y Direct
PO Box 881574
Los Angeles, CA 90009
1-877-619-6583

I just delt with B&L Marketing with no problems as of yet. I am supposed to pay my loan off tomorrow. Their number is 1-866-656-1136 and the fax number is 1-866-370-7045. The key is they will continue to debt your account until you fax them a written statment with your intention to pay down or pay out. Hope this helps.

Friday I received a phone call from someone at "prelitigation" named Shawn Braxton. He told me that I had until 6pm to pay $687.00 or he was going to file affidavits against me, and have me arrested. He toild me he worked for United Federal Bank, and B& L financed thru them. I contacted B&L, and was told my debt had been sold to I Collect. Which way should I go from here?

Be careful, the collection company is not acting as per the federal laws. They are trying to make money without any papers. Ask for a debt validation before you send your money. It's better to get in touch with the original company.

Had anyone found out if these Pre-Litigation people are for real or they just using some kind of scary collection tactics. I had someone call me yesterday saying that legal action was going to be taken on me for a $200 loan that was unpaid with B&L Marketing. I told them I would make arrangements to pay the amount I owed and I could possibly send $200.00 this Friday. The guy then put me on hold while he said he was contacting B&L Marketing, then he comes back and says that they want me to surrender the full amount of $580.00 by today or I will be subpoena to go to court for check fraud and theft by deception. He said that B&L Marketing said that I maliciously took the money with no intent to pay back and they are trying to make an example out of me. He said they also said that I refused collection, which is untrue, because I never received anything from them in writing nor did I talk to them on the phone or refuse collection efforts. What should I do?

Try dealing with B&L Marketing instead of dealing with the CA. You can reach B&L Marketing at 1-866-656-1136 and the fax number is 1-866-370-7045.

Pre-litigation is trying to intimidate you to pay them. Don't let them go over you. They are bound to validate the debt in writing before attempting collections. As they have not sent you anything in writing so far, send a debt validation letter from your side requesting for the account details. They must not call you further until they put everything in writing. Also, send a cease and desist letter to make your legal point stronger. The template is at this link
