Could someone tell me how to stop allied interstate Agency from harrassing me by phone. They have been calling my home every day for the last month and half sometimes they call 4 times a day and I got a call 4 times today which is Saturday. I have caller ID so I know it is them calling and don't answer. My daughter had a cell phone and didn't pay the bill and they are calling this number and she is not here. Should I call the Attorney General in my state and report them to the Federal Trade Commission? Thank you for any help.

Send them a "Cease and Desist" letter CMRR. Sample here: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...s/sample9.html
If they continue to contact you they are in violation of the FCRA and the fdcpa. You have rights, make use of them.

misslady

I'd also like to add that most collection calls could be on auto-dialer. If they don't get an answer, it'll be set up to redial a couple hours later.

If they're calling for your daughter, simply tell them she's no longer at your address, but you can send a message to have her call them.

It can't be classified harassment, if they aren't talking to anybody. Collection companies can only call between the hours of 8am and 9pm, and depending on the state, no calling on Sundays.

If the calls continue after you explain to them that your daughter isn't at your address, then you can send out the cease and desist letter.

Regards-
Mike

a cease and desist letter would be the best way to go.
if they still dont, then you have a green light to go martial arts (legally) on their [well you know]. Harassment is an offence and can also be classified as a crime.

Send a Cease and Desist letter...Make sure that you send it certified mail, so that you can get confirmation that they receieved it.

They also called me the a auto dialer, telling me to call a 1-800 no. so after a week I had some time and did call them. About 250 times. I talked to at least 8 different ppl. several times . I wasted as much of their time as possible and when they asked me if I would like to handle the prob.I told them no...they realized that i was messin with them and asked me to stop, I said I would when they would stop callin me to call them....( I knew about the cease letter-wanted to know if they would tell me themselves.....they obviously did not..) so after 250 calls they called their local police dept.( Chandler- officer Foward) to call me to warn me to stop harrassing them- The irony of it all....But Allied Got sick of me callin them...I suggest other ppl do the same - call them just to annoy them...waste their time....think of it as a hobby and with a mind set to not get angry yourself, but to anger them.

I asked my lawyer if I was harrassing them and he said not techically because I was actually trying to get them to do something that is my legal right and that they could of easily gotten me to stop calling them if they gave me the info I needed ( I did tell them that the reason for my call was to get them to stop callin me) but they told me that I would keep gettin the messages until I settled my debt and I replied that I would also keep callin them and would see who would give in first.....They actually called the cops on me(Chandler arizona 's finest busy at work protecting a sleazy big corp.,with numerous complaints , from one bored lonesome dude)....This has got to be some kinda cosmic irony thing....But I started callin the next day and they told me my no. was off their list. I WON. So think about it ... These guys are on commision, waste their time= waste their money = them gettin angry= me having my jollies! plus it was a 1-800 no. ( someones gotta pay the phone bill...)

Here is a number and email address. Let's have fun! LOL. They have just started this fun process with me to. Nothing better to do. They are calling me in ref to a former room mate's debt. They won't quit. Dear Jesus, pray for me.
Hope this helps. Maybe we could flood them with emails.
