Common Sense...Did you ever hear the phrase "Sh** Happens?" Thing happen, and you can't always control it.

Pray that you don't get into a car accident and have over $20,000 in medical bills and everyone wants their money NOW. Including your regular living expenses-rent, utilities, etc.

Yes, there are bums out there that take advantage, but not all of us. Just like their are awesome HUMAN collectors out there..You won't see me lumping THEM into one group with the bad ones, you shouldn't lump us together either.

Come back when you have something to say that's constructive. Until then, stay out of our hair.

Tazman you should rethink ccc trust me on this one they are glorified accountants non profit my ass they charge you to pay your bills, had you set up the arrangement you wouldnt be gwetting letters, find out what the ccc is paying your creditor after they take their fee chances are they are only paying like 10.50 a month seriously if you have intrest accruing accounts you will neever be debt free...why do you need them to do something you can do yourself for free...where do you think they get the money to pay their employees...i would take matters in my own hands if i were you it would save a lot of money and headache...as far as amo what state do you live in if its washington and the office your getting letters is from washington office they only need to find ur employer and current adress to garnish 25% of your wages ans all you have to owe is 150.00 i used to work their so i know a little...i suggest you just call and try resolving it on ur own the ccc is the biggest scam ever..seriously aske them for a statement...flip it on them ask what they are paying monthly and what are you paying them some take the money up from and then start paying ur creditors...i saw one one time cost somone 600.00 then once that was paid the monthly pmt was divided between the creditors they contacted...you dont want that to happen to you???

Default Debts

Find out who the original creditor was. On such a low bill it could be for a magazine subscription, something for a kid's site plus a bit of interest. It is to your benefit to pay off low balance debts like this as fast as you can because it definitely improves your credit reliability. I have worked in collections for years (25+) and it always amazes me when people refuse totake care of the more managebale debts they have. It's just plain crazy. Bite the buller, straighten out the problem and make sure you get a letter before you pay the debt. giving the credit info and the balance. Then after you submit your money order (checks tell too much), submitted with your lette, make sure you get a confirmation of payment received and that the credit bureau is notified that the debt is "satisfied in full". You want to keep all copies of recent documentation in case it comes up when applying for a loan or credit down the road.

Since you have filed chapter 7, you need to contact your bankruptcy attorney and let them know that AMO has violated the stay. Your bankruptcy attorney will handle it from there.

Default Very Upset

I have an account with AMO,I have been paying on my account for a year. This morning I called them because my balance on my statement was incorrect. First of all, the person that I talked to last year is no longer employed there so I got another person that was rude from the beginning. She informed me that I have 10 past due accounts with them. First time hearing that. I ask her for the account numbers because I have payment arrangements with the hospital that she said I have these accounts with.I think I unleashed a monster for asking this. She told me she didn't have to give me the account numbers because some of them were paid. My concern was have I paid double on these accounts. Just wanted my account numbers. She started giving me the numbers so quickly that I ask her to slow down, she then informed me that she didn't have to. She was very rude, told me she was upset with me because I had 10 accounts with them. The point, I work CSR and I would never talk to anyone the way she talked to me. When I said that to her. She said she wasn't customer service. I ask to speak to her Manager, she quickly told me his name then hung up. When I called back she had a whole different story made up. Telling me I was rude to her. I did get upset when she would not give me my account numbers. I ask her to mail them to me, she said she would not, I ask her to email them to me, she said no. I need to compare the numbers because I feel I have paid twice . I do not know what to do.

Default AMO

I keep getting these messages on my machine to return a call to AMO, when I call I find out its AMO recoveries. I have NEVER not paid a bill, and never been over 30 days late for anything. I have excellent credit. My phone number is only a year old and it isn't listed. I bought my house a year ago and not one bill has been late or missed. What is going on? I researched the company and find awful things. How did they get my number? And I can't get a hold of anyone. i call the 800 number and get a recording to leave a message which I won't do. What the heck???

Maybe, the company did a skip tracing and got the access to view your credit report. They can also get someone's phone number by calling their place of work. Send a cease and desist letter and if necessary, a debt validation letter to get the accurate purpose of these calls.

Default AMO Recoveries

My college son had a $500 cell phone bill...unpaid....sent to AMO Recoveries. They have added on $116 for "Collection fees". They are calling us saying they have this right because of the origional contract he signed with US Cellular. They were unwilling to work out a payment plan or anything with him. He only makes $80 a week at the nursing home and is in college full time. What is the likelyhood they will take him to court? His ex-rotten girlfriend had him sign the contract ant then ran up the bill before they split. HELP!!!!! We looked them up withthe BBB....NOT GOOD!!!!!

Default I PAID my bill on time

I paid a bill on time in 2005 and AMO recoveries started calling me over a year later, in Jan. 2007, saying I hadn't paid. I sent proof from my bank statement, but they weren't satisfied. I had to call or fax different people over 30 times to create a paper trail proving that I had paid my bill. At one point they lied to me on the phone saying I had paid in Dec. 06, so I sent them a fax proving otherwise, and they never apologized, just came up with new reasons not to fix my credit score.

Finally one of their reps admitted that I had indeed paid them in 05. They said they would fix my credit report and mail me proof. Instead, they did nothing, and a month later started calling me again telling me to pay them.

The amount I paid them is 725 dollars, and they keep trying to extort double my money from me. Just today they lied again and said that the website I paid my bill on would only credit the hospital directly, not them. I called the website and they confirmed the opposite, they only pay AMO, which is supposed to pay the hospital themselves.

So I gave AMO money in 05 which they kept but did not pay the hospital apparently. This is the worst company of any kind I have ever experienced. I have no idea how any of them sleep at night.
