Amazing how you TRY to be at least somewhat nice in a post and still get torn up by Doug's biting wit.

Doug - if you would take a moment to re-read my post, I did not say anything about race and the projects together - I said that someone's income level may lead them to live in low income housing - I never said race leads them to live there.

If you don't like to be misquoted yourself, don't do it to someone else.

What's shocking and disturbing is this guy's interpretation of the law. "... as long as I don't assault ..."??? Did ya forget about harrassment, stalking, extortion or any of the other methods you imply that you use? Good thing identies are protected here. I certainly don't need to have nightmares about Douggie boy coming into my life. Doug your a bully straight and simple. You probably pulled the wings off of flys when you were a kid. Sick!

I spoke with a debt consolidation company about paying off outstanding credit card debt. It seems too good to be true (i.e. detrimental to my credit rating) How will consolidating my debt affect my credit? The reoresentative I spoke with informed me that my credit cards will reflect non-payment until I have paid enough into a type of escrow account and the negotiated amount is paid in full. Is this a wise move? Ultimately it could save me over $5,000.
Thanks for your time -

hi Nelly,
Too many people said that debt consolidation stays on credit score at least 7 years and if you need any loan from the bank after paying off your debt you won`t get it. Is that true ?

consolidation programs have a 90% failure rate!
they take all your debts so you only make one payment to the company/trust whatever.
with consolidation you will pay back your whole balance, they negotiate the percentage rate + their fees
i had a client once tell me that he was in this type of program over the course of 3 years with 10k of debt after 3 years he looked at his balance and he still owed 9k, where did all his money go to? fees!
he quit and went with my old employers, which we settled his debt for alot less than his balance owed with fees included one debt at a time.

Is it true that inorder to consolidate your bills, you are told that you are not suppose to pay any of your bills for 3 months that way the consolidation company can negotiate better rates for you? If so doesn't that kill your credit score?
