THANK GOD FOR THIS PLACE AND YOU GUYS! I would not have been able to do this without all the advice I have received here.....

With a few letters and a few removals, my Transunion FICO score has gone up almost 150 points, now at 602!!!

Just wanted to share that with everybody, I couldn't have done it without you guys and gals helping me.

The main thing I did was to remove accounts that weren't mine. I was an authorized user on a few accounts that ended up charged off. I disputed them as "not mine" and they were removed! It was actually pretty easy. It was just 3 charged-off credit card accounts. I included a letter from the actual account holder that basically said that he takes responsibility for the charges. It worked!

My other scores are still pretty low (538 and 512) but I am waiting for some disputes on those ones to finish up. I'll let you know how those go as well.

Now as long as the other disputes go well, I should see a HUGE boost in ALL my scores. It seems like for me, EVERY account I have ever had posted to Transunion, some to Experian, and almost NONE to Equifax. It's weird how they decide who to report to. But it's working in my favor for now, so I won't complain

It was mostly because of you Shirley, I really don't think I would have disputed those accounts if it wasn't for you telling me that you had done it as well! So THANKS and *hugs*!

Oh, and keep us updated on your "not mines" and let us know how they go! I have...umm....I think 11 accounts in dispute right now so I'll let you know how those go as well. Should be a huge boost to my other scores if/when they come off! (Have to have a positive attitude, right?)

Shirley is the queen of disputes. I have followed her advice and gotten things deleted that shouldn't have been on there. Equifax went from 549 to 610 just disputing. Transunion went from 599 to 605 and never heard back from Experian. But with the new scale for the scores, we are still a low D but I guess thats better than an F.

I don't think that scale matters. I think they calculate the score differently so the actual number is different. a 610 FICO would be more like a 700-something with VantageScore. So don't let that new system fool you, you are doing great!!

Yeah, the new one will take into account everything--utility bills, cell phones, rental history, etc. Which is a bonus because those are bills that if you pay them on time, could be a huge deal.
