Clay, I witnessed this entire conversation and the related post with Cash today. I also feel that chyna26 was not mentioning you at his post. It is a small confusion between both of you and can be easily solved.

We all know that Cash Today and Stuart are the real culprits. So, we need to stand together and throw them out of business. We can make it happen.

Ok, I will concede that Chyna was not directly speaking of me. However, in my post I also used highlighting to try and get a point across. I now understand Chyna was stating SHE highlighted others (Stuarts?) comments in her email to trust UK. The original post was changed after my reply to delete the offending word.

Obviously a miscommunication or more specifically a misunderstanding on my part has taken place. Chyna, please accept my most humble and gracious apology.

Chyna is right, it is sad that both British and American authorities are trying to shrug responsibility off on each other rather that someone dealing with the issue at hand. It is because they lurk in this grey area that they are able to get away with doing what they do. To that extent, the only way to truly protect yourself is to read the fine print in the disclosure to see exactly where the transaction is deemed to have been executed and to know what jurisdiction the account will fall under.

Obviously, not taking out payday or short term loans in the first place is the best defense against these kinds of businesses. However, if you really have your back up against the wall and you have to do it, deal with a store front operation in your own town. At least then you know you are protected by your State and Federal laws.

Having done the payday thing a few times, the most humiliating thing was walking into that store and dealing with those people (luckily, the people I dealt with were very nice, though I don't know how nice they would have been had I defaulted).

Sometimes a little humility can teach the best lessons.

Chyna

Keep a record of all the calls with dates and times so that you have the complete summary of it. You might require this later if you wish to file a lawsuit against them.

Hi Ben,
Problem now, supposedly the manager was informed about people coming to this site about their debt issue and made a comment about it. Not sure if darren has came on here and checked it out, but who cares

Chyna, do you remember some time back, people from the office of Ellis Crosby were here in the disguise of Tedd Crosby?

I am pretty sure that Darren will also get informed about this site.

Hi,
I took out a $200 loan with cash today.. I DO HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY THEM BACK ON MY NEXT PAYDAY AS AGREED. Do I still have a problem? What do I do? I'm so scared. You said you pity all the people who have $200 loans out with them... Why?

Hi cashtoday collections

Welcome to the forums.

Most of the people here are complaining lack of documentation from the side of Cash Today. Unauthorized debits took place in their accounts and some disputes with this company have also been left unsolved.

While you pay to this company, make sure that you have got proper receipts of your payments made. Also, keep a check on your checking account to prevent any unauthorized debits.

If you have proof of every transaction made with Cash Today, then you don't need to fear for anything.

Get a written note from the company that your credit report will be updated after the payment is complete. Some people have faced problems with their credit reports not updated properly.

Well I took out a loan in May. That's right May. They have continued to take $59.00 U.S. dollars out of my account every Friday. My $200.00 dollar loan has now cost me $1416.00. Do I feel stupid? Of course. I have called them over and over to ask them to stop taking this amount out of my account. Please tell me what my next step should be. I was going to send them a certified letter but I can't seem to get a good address for them. Boy, have I learned a valueable lesson here. Should I say expensive also.

Hi madbama

Welcome to the forums

I am shocked that Cash Today has taken $1416.00 from your account for a $200.00 loan. You should immediately close your checking account and get a new account number.

Inform your bank and ask the ACH department to change the account number. This will save your hard earned money from being debited without any valid reason.

You might also be interested in filing this complaint to the attorney general office in your state and request for immediate actions to be taken against them. Send a copy of your complaint to the FTC and BBB also.

Regards
Roxette

I also took out a loan from Cash Today. I also cannot get them to stop debiting my account. If I close my account, will they harrase me? If so, do I have legal right not to pay them anymore? I definately paid above and beyond what is owed.

I took some advice from another posting and checked the london business directory on cash2day4u/cash today limited and found some additional info there is a site boningroup.com has them listed as members since 4-2005 it actually has where you can rate them and write a review on them it has no activity on it it was easy to find through a london search engine. And also where they are affilated with a company called dark blue
