Thank you Ben for responding. I have copied and pasted a cease letter from this forum. I will definetly go the legal route. I just am looking for quick solutions. Getting calls at your job is very embarrising. I am lucky I can control who gets what call since I am the one answering the phone. For others it seems they can't get the letter to these people fast enough. See we are dealing with people who do not care about our situations and why should they. They are doing their jobs to collect the money for the company they work for. It is obvious that harrassing thier customers they are able to collect money from them because the customer is scared or embarrassed. These employees have insentives so therefore they get the money any way they can. I really hope this letter works.

From the collections point of view, to earn the maximum money, they will try to harass people in every way because it is all related to earning incentives.

I just wanted to thank all of you for this information. I was looking into taking a payday loan with Cash Today. I'm glad I did some research and found your forum. I apologize for just butting in and not being able to give back to each of you for your very valuable information. But I do truly appreciate it. Good luck to each of you. May God bless you.

Jessican

It will be most advisable not to do business with Cash Today. If you can contact their customer care and inform them about canceling the agreement, it will be beneficial for you.

Also, you have to keep a close watch in your checking account as they will try to withdraw money from it.

Jessican,

It is not advisable at all to take out a loan from any payday lender. Yes Cash Today is one of the worse you could ever get involved with, but either way it is not advisable to take one out with any company. You are better off borrowing from a friend or any other alternative you can think of. Every week garunteed you will be charged $59 (with cash today) plus if you choose to pay something on the balance. In the end you pay over 100% more in fees then for the actual loan. Extra money to buy what you want is great to have but in the long run realize it was not a gift it does need to payed back and nine times out of ten if you need the money now you more than likely will not have the money later to pay it back! Good Luck.

Well..I too I guess have fallen for this scam...I tried calling over the weekend to cancel the loan after seing this site. THey guy told me that they weren't there...weekend, they are home. I wanted to ask why are you there then...I called later, they said if I call on OCt 16 or 17th since my payday is Oct 21st, I can repay the full amount ($279). I asked if I could call earlier..."You can, but it would be better if you called Oct 16th or 17th". I will be calling sooner believe me.

Yes it is very important not to fall into this trap. do whatever you can to avoid it. Because it once you get one, it is like a domino effect and you continue to get more to cover the other one that you had received.

Yea, I have actually just cancelled my loan with them. Just how they handle business is shady as hell. A bunch of foreigners that answer the phone and there is so much background noise it is very unprofessional. I cant believe that I actually gave them all of my personal information. Most companies have very strict security measures to ensure that their customers sensitive data remains protected. With this company, there are probably foreigners trying to open up accounts already. I am just so glad that I cancelled with them. Very shaky company. Just do without before doing business with them.

Send your letter about closing the letter through certified mail and return receipt requested. This way, you will be able to track your letter and also have a valid proof of your information sent if any problem occurs later. Having the date on the receipt is very important as it is on that particular day, the company received your letter.

There is nothing professional about this company. They curse and harrass you. I however got them to stop calling my work! I told them I do not work here anymore and they have not called back since. I fooled them at their own game. I did not feel that these people had any right to call me at my job especialy since they have always received my payments. My weekly payment is down to $35 with them but they have been way overpaid. I guess it is better than the $59 per week they were taking from me. I cannot stress this any better but to say NEVER TAKE OUT A PAYDAY LOAN! If you do not have the money now to pay whatever it is you need to pay trust me you will not have the money later to pay the loan you just took out. It is like making a deal with the devil! Sign your soul or should I say paycheck away every week until it is paid off!

I agree with you elisia because payday loans can do nothing but damage your financial management system. These loans might sound helpful during emergencies but they charge illegal fees for lending it to you.

If you have to take a payday loans with no other options left, consider paying it off in the next payday rather than revolving it in the next month. This way, you are digging the hole deeper for yourself.

These dummies still continue to call my job but what they do now is leave a message to call the legal department and then leave another 800 number (unrecognizable). On one of my complaints i recieved a response back from the financial inst. Division in nevada before i realized that the company is mainly based in uk, the response back from darren webb states that they call me office because they seem to make contact with me there, duh!!!I do work, but that does not mean they can't leave a message for me to call them back, they do not want to do that they are so demanding to talk with someone. However i did find out that payday loans are illegal in georgia as stated on the attorney general site and also states payday loans are illegal. When i informed one of the reps he started stuttering and got stuck on stupid and said that i could just pay loan back in full and they will close my account out, i kept telling him that he should have given me the loan, furthermore i should not have took it but i did not know at the time that loans were illegal here. I have not hear from them since, it has been a week, i told him he will not get anymore money from me and that i had been paid them their loan and little extra and just be glad i paid them their damn $200

Funny thing happened at work today...I work for the school board in a small building with 2 other people...one of them being a police officer for the school board. I was receiving harassing phone calls from these people every 2 minutes. After the 6th call, the police officer picked up the phone and got into a screaming match with the caller. In addition, he tracked down the address of the company and is planning on pressing charges on the grounds of harassment of a law enforcement officer. Needless to say, he called the wrong place of employment today (he didn't even believe he was a police officer!)
