April jones, I am sad that you have also become a part of this scam with Cash Today. Talk to your bank and close your checking account immediately. This company will continue making the unauthorized debits if the account is kept active. Talk to your bank as they might be familiar with this issue.

Also, your bank can dispute with the company on the debits already made. Each of them has to be verified and since you have not taken any loan from them, it should be refunded back to you. You can consider taking some legal help also regarding this matter.

i have paid this damn company $1350 for a $200 loan from october... thats like 600% interest... how can that be legal??? b/c i changed jobs, i had misplaced the customer service number so when i received my income tax refund & intended on paying it off they were nowhere to be found... even on my bank statement it says simply "CASH TODAY" which is not even the company's legal name... this is ridiculous... thanks to this board I now have the customer service number so I thank you all and wish you the best of luck... anytime you want me to join the army in a class action you just let me know...

Amy, Cash Today might again try to debit money from your checking account. To avoid this situation, you can think of closing your checking account and stop the company from making any more debits. Take the help of your bank and they can get these debits verified with the company. Since you have paid large amount of money, the company has to explain each of these transactions or else, refund back the money. Take the help of your attorney if needed.

If you were the loan company and you sent someone money who promised to pay it back, wouldn't you try to get it back no matter what? These guys are well within their rights to keep calling you. It was your choice to take out the loan, and your responsibility to pay it back, PERIOD!

Brittany,

I fully agree with you. If I would have given my money to someone, I would have definitely used all means to get the money back. Moreover, to cover my back, I would have got everything in writing from the person to prove that he has taken the loan amount. I would have definitely issued statements showing the payments made so far.

The fact is that I would have never done anything like Cash Today is does. They fail to give anything in writing after the loan is deposited in the account. They claim to be a paperless company and would not send any statements of payments. To be proactive is the best way to handle such companies. Those who are dealing with Cash Today and have realized the problems are doing the right thing by closing the checking account. They should not send any more money until they get something in writing from the company. I think you will also like to do the same thing if it comes on you.

call them immediately and rescind the loan. call your bank and ask them to return the deposit. Explain to them it is a payday loan and you have notified the company to cancel it. If possible fax the cancellation to the lender. but if you cant, make sure you document the time and date of the phone call.

HI....read all the post.....the sad thing is that why r u ppl taking loan from this company. anyway....the best way out is this....
first of all.....the company starts calling u when u default a payment....right....
once ur balance due amt is around $400, make sure u close the loan...
now for all those ppl who have the principle amt + high interest. when someone calls u....tell them u will close the loan for $400. beleive me...they will close it for u....
and a peice of advice!!!!
if u dont want to pay.....then dont pay.....this company is based in London,UK. They cannot do anything. they dont have any contatcs in USA, other than their physical address in nevada is to receive payments and NOTHING else...
this company has some strange rules....the more money an agent gathers from a customer, higher his commission.
i read in a few posts....the companys website is heathmill.com thats right...thats the webiste n the addy is accurate too.
but i want to ask u ppl 1 question.....since this forum is running since last august...why no one has ever taken a physical step???
sending letters and faxes wont help? u need to do something in real?
the agents who call u r workin just for money....everyone works for money....why blame them. blame the company...n never take a loan from this company again.....
a peice of advice.... when the sales rep of this company calls u for loan......just tell them....u get paid monthly and beleive me........u wont qualify for the loan.
all those ppl who r getting paid weekly....be careful....ur the ones who get ripped first...
if any of u can travel to london....then go n see the call center... u will get to know what it is.s
and for all u computer worms....dont try to track my id addy....it wont solve ur problem.....
keep this site updated abt the daily events!

So yes, I was one of the many fools that used Cash Today LTD. When you call the 1-800-680-2177 # from your statement you reach no one but an annoying British voice, who tells you to leave a message. My issue is that I borrowed only $200.00 and I have paid back $869 to-date. Ah and yes you guessed it, I can not find the wonderful contract that I signed to advise how to much I will be repaying over all. I was thinking maybe have my bank stop payment on the ACH withdrawals and see if they contact me, however, I do not want to end up in court owing $2500+. Any advice on what I could/should do would be much appreciated.

tcrawford2, if you don't take the preventive steps now and close the bank account, the company will keep on making the unauthorized debits. Your money will go wasted endlessly. Besides, the company has to show proof of your delinquency before taking any legal actions against you. You have already paid a large amount towards this loan. You must get a statement from the company showing the latest standing of this account. If you have paid excess amount, the company has to refund it back to you. Take the help of your bank and place the items on dispute with Cash Today. The items must be verified at the earliest. If you get a call from Cash Today, put your request before you further pay them anything.

Tcrawford2, if you have any queries in the process, come here on the board for suggestions. One wrong decision can spoil everything. If there is any need of sending more money, don't do it through your bank. Use money order for making the payment. Stay in touch
