These people are crazy!!! How long are they going to get away with this?!? Sounds like it they take cease and desist letters as a big joke and it only encourages them to call even more. What is their problem? Direct the media to this forum maybe that will get their attention.

I just called them, they hung up on me. I called them again and got hung up on again so I called them agan. I was told they will not accept my payment, so I said then I don't have to pay since you are refusing my payment, which in turn saves me money. They transferred me to the "legal department" and they weren't in so she told me to call back tomorrow same time, same number (wouldn't that mean they would again be closed) so I told them they would be hearing from my lawyer (not that I have one)

Does anyone know what bank Cash Today uses. I would like to see if it is an unauthorized bank with the FSA or has anyone already checked that out already?

The prior two posts are obviously spam. And in regards to the bank question, I believe they use a US one, which I think would be legal, unlike this sleazy, scummy company.

I have been reading all the post and I feel what everyone is saying. However my situation is a little diferrent. I am getting the phone calls at work and I am getting the threats at work and yes they did call my supervisor and tell her the police are going to be at my work on Monday to arrest me. The difference is I am the wrong person. I work for a large health insurance company and there are 2 people with the same first and last name spelled the same. They have her social, I verified that they did not have my social. They wanted me to fax them my SS card.( I am glad that I didn't now) This company gave me this girl's full name, address, SS number, DOB and mother's maiden name. I kept saying this is not me you have the wrong person and they kept calling me a liar and a convict. THIS IS REALLY NOT ME!! I had no idea who these people were until I started researching. I have had problems with our names before. I almost had my furniture taken for not paying my rent bill. I didn't know that you could rent furniture. The other problem is that this girl does not work here anymore so I can not tell her to call these people and to pay off whatever it is that she took. How do i get them to leave me alone. Any ideas???

I made the mistake of borrowing money from these people almost 2 years ago. I paid them back the money I borrowed and then some if you consider all of the interest fees. However, yesterday, out of the blue, I got a call at home by a woman named "Stephanie" telling me that she was calling to talk about the debt I owed them. Then today I received a call from a man I couldn't even understand telling me the same thing. I can't believe it's been almost 2 years and I have to start dealing with this again. I faxed them a cease and desist letter again this morning but I have a feeling they will not listen. Any other suggestions?

Would you believe that even when you DO pay this company they still try to take money from your account? I paid my balance off to these people and a few weeks later they hit my bank account for $80.00. I got my money back...but that just shows what they will do!!!!

These people are simply amazing!!!!!!! Tell them that you are not only filing police reports against them, but claims with your state's attorney general for fraud. See how fast that will get them off the phone! And do not give them a dime more than you owe them!

Cass, I just got the same call yesterday also. But be informed when they call you again or when you call them back, that you know that they don't hold a valid license in the state they are in and if they did then why did they get fined $50,000 for not having one? Plus they are not licensed in your state also.

Please go read the post on Cash Today Limited and you will see what I am talking about. That's how I learned about this and I filed a complaint with the BBB and then they contacted me. I haven't called them back though, yet anyway.

I need some help. I have been trying to read these posts but I do not have time to read all 48 pages. I receieved a call today from 442084922780 and the guy said his name was Jon, I really couldn't understand him. He asked for me and I said she isn't here can I take a message. He said he was with the investigation Dept and to call him back asap @ 800-670-4075. He said he was starting "legal matters" on me. I find it interesting that he is telling someone other than the person this info but after reading all these posts I can believe it now. I googled the number because I have no idea who these people are. I find all this stuff about them online. I filed BK in 2005 and haven't had any PDLs since. Does anyone know what other companies they may be affiliated with. I see that people have posted Sonic Payday and Cash4u (something). Is Cash today a seperate company? Any help would be great. The good thing is I work in IT/Telecom so we blocked all the numbers after reading these posts.
Thanks

Actually, the full name of the company is Cash Today 4U, which is a subsidiary of Route 66, which is a huge company in London.

I went through the same crap with them. I finally filed complaints with the FTC and the BBB and my local AG ( I am in RI) after one afternoon of non-stop calls at work. I received a letter from the Nevada Department of Business and Industry. Basically they are illegal and they aren't licensed in any state an my contract was considerd null and void.
