Default CCI Triple Advantage Took Me Too

I was charged a 12.95 fee for something that I never even requested. I am trying to figure out where did they get my information and how do I stop them.

Alexis,

Call your bank and close your checking account if it is still accessible to CIC. You will be able to save a lot of debits coming your way.

Default Credit Reporting

I have tried numerous times to have my account closed. No results. I have directed my credit card company to pay no more money for this fraud.

ConsumerInfo.com and MyPerfectCredit.com are credit report scams. They stipulate that you can cancel withing five to thrity days and not be charged, then they charge you! Go figure! My husband had this happen when he used MyPerfectCredit.com, he did cancel four days after signing up, and was later billed for $68 which was called for by First Credit of America which is a stupid collection agency. This bunch didn't count on this debtor being married to a student loan collector well-versed in the fdcpa, I got the details fot he call and the account, and I drafted a letter for him to be sent to the AG of Illinois. My husband got his money refunded, an apology from First Credit of America, and an investigation of MyPerfectCredit.com

UNHAPPYCAMPER

You sound very angry. I can understand your problem. However, if you are confusing CIC with this website, you have perhaps come to the wrong place indeed. This is not the place you are looking for.

That is so, but you could get CIC location information from some folks around here, then you can get your money back!

I've had $12.95 deducted for a few months now. I contacted my bank to find out where this was coming from. I can't seem to get any answers. Who exactly did you contact to get them to stop??

Default They got me too

for $9.95 from the free credit report I got online.
I called the number, they told me they would cancel the membership and not bill me anymore. When I asked about the 9.95 she said they couldn't refund it. When I calmly mentioned calling my bank and the BBB, she quickly changed her mind and told me they would refund it.

It's a scam. Good thing I always check my bank statements.

CIC just got hammered with a class action lawsuit. They were getting people to go to freecreditreport.com and not tell them they were signing up for credit monitoring.

You should only be ordering your credit report through the bureaus...Once a year, for free from annualcreditreport. com, and you can also purchase them for a small fee from each of the credit bureaus. The bureaus also offer 3-in-one monitoring services for a monthly fee.

Default CIC credit report

I was charged $12.95 in NOV 2005 by CIC. I called the number on my credit card statement and no one answered. I contacted my credit card cust service and told them I didn't know what it was, didn't order anything from them, please take the charge off. They did. But DEC 2005 CIC put two charges of $12.95 on my card. I kept calling them and called the credit card again also. The credit card said fax all the information you have and write out the dispute and sign it, and no more problems. I reached CIC finally and they said it was a monthly service. I told them I never heard of them, never asked for any monthly service, never received any service from them, and demanded cancellation and full refund. She said she could cancel it but I had to give her information. She wanted my mother's maiden name, my social, my driver's license number, my birthdate, the number and expiration date of my credit card, and the 3 digit authorization code on the back of my card! No way! She said she could not cancel my account if I could not prove who I was and I needed all those things to prove it. I asked for her supervisor, but got the same runaround. I reported this to the credit card company, they were very understanding. They removed the charges again, after I faxed the dispute, and I thought I was through.

Wrong. In Jan 2006 I was charged 3 charges of $12.95, and a fourth charge, of $79.95, DATED THE SAME DAY I TALKED TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE SUPERVISOR. Wow! What a scam! I called CIC over and over again until 3 days later someone finally answered the phone. Apparently, I couldn't CANCEL the monthly charges without giving all that information, but they claim that I did OPEN another account which has an annual fee of $79.95, while talking to the customer service lady. How could I open ANOTHER account, I ask, without giving her any information? You don't need to give it to open another account, they answer, WE ALREADY HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION. But I called to cancel. No, you called to UPGRADE! Yikes! Don't call these people ever! For anything! I continued to be charged the $12.95 in FEB 2006, I kept talking to my credit card company.... and sending letters to CIC and reporting them to the FTC. In March I reached CIC again and really yelled my head off at about 5 different people. The last lady said that it was automatic and there was no way to stop it, they would keep charging the card until it expired. BINGO! Thanks for the clue.

Finally I solved it by asking my credit card company to issue me a new number. Don't close the account, just get a new number. It's very easy to do. They just take the old number off the account and stick a new one on it. Without the account number CIC can't charge you. You can do the same with your bank account or debit cards. Tell the bank you are being charged an unauthorized charge, and close the account. Open a new one, with another bank if you have to. And never, never give out your personal information. And check your statements frequently! You may not be able to get a refund of all past charges, but at least it prevents more from being added on.

Default CIC credit reporting

Experian and CIC are the same company. I called 1-888-888-8553 just today and spoke with a guy named Alex who assured me that I would have no further charges. I told him he better be right or I would get my attorney involved. I'll be sure to check my bank account. Good Luck to you.

Default ripped off!!!!!!!!!!

I sent this company an email, stating I never wished to join & wanted to cancell membership. They replied that they couldnt cancell without more info.I tried reaching them on phone, only to be continuously transferred without results. So I called again, told them my credit sucks,I don't need anyone to tell me this, they tried tactics insisting I should keep my membership.I adamantly refused. She had to get supervisor's approval, but issued a refund finally, however there's charges under a different name, different amount, from one of their alias' I presume.I cancelled that membership too,but am getting nowhere on refund!!!!
