The posted the money to my account - but when I renewed with them - they charged extra money - I just wanted to know if the fees were legal and if they were legal in my state which is maryland - I borrowed $500 from the beginning and I had to pay back 800.00 which I should have said no - but now I am thinking that was crazy interest

Go through these links and know the permissible interests and fees in your state. You should dispute with the help of your bank and claim for a refund. Besides, you check the licensing info of Magnum from the licensing authority in your state.

If anyone defaults on the loan at a store loan company - what happens - will they workout payments?

There are greater possibilities about storefront lenders working out payment arrangements with you. They want to get their money back and if you are willing to do so, the lenders might extend some benefits to you. It matters the most if you can call them first and extend your proposals. If they make a call before you do, the collection techniques can often sound aggressive. Go ahead and talk to your lenders if your accounts are in default.

Core, you are not alone in the payday loan mess. Many here, including myself, are trying to figure out easier ways to pay off the lenders at the earliest. A few of us are having smiles after clearing all their accounts. A counselor working in your area will call you up and offer you further assistance. Read as many threads in this forum filled with various suggestions on how to deal with these problems. Hopefully, you will find out better solutions suitable to your situation. These discussions might sound helpful to you.

Core and Vivian

You can expect a call from the consultant in your area very soon. Once you did the registration in this website, it has been sent to the company in your area. They will give you a call back and discuss on your debt accounts. Get all the latest statements of your accounts you want to include in the program. The consultant will let you know about your options before getting started in the program.

So basically you're saying that if I send them a proposal and show them what I have paid thus far and then send them a payment along with my proposal, they may leave me alone? Should I still send letters to the AG office? None of my PDL are licensed in Florida and rollovers are not allowed. Many of these loans are rollovers.
