Welcome to the forums.

Please use the toll free number to contact Fingerhut. It's 1-800-208-2500.

Their mailing address is:

Regarding overpayment, you can talk to your bank and see if they can arrange this refund for you.

Hi antonette

Send a letter to Fingerhut disputing this item. They need to give you the results of their investigation verifying this account balance.

If this balance is appearing in your account by mistake, it will be cleared from your account and an update will be sent to the CRA. Insist on getting a statement in writing from your creditor. It will be a written proof of most of the facts.

Default Fingerhut account

I do have an existing Fingerhut Credit Advantage account, but I have not charged anything on it in years. I thought your company was out of business. Can I charge something with this account on the web?

Default Fingerhut Credit dis-Advantage

Fingerhut keeps sending me letters of demand from various and different collection agencies each with a different amount owed. How do I get them to stop hiring collections agencies when I have not charged anything in four years, and had a cost dispute the last thing that I did purchase. I refuse to pay them anything and keep sending letters to cease and desist sending me collection notifications.

Hi Penny

My personal opinion would be to contact Fingerhut and know the actual status of the account with them. If you have not charged anything within four years, you should not have any bills. You need to know the charges from Fingerhut.

While you are being contacted by different collection agencies, send a debt validation letter requesting for the account details. If they have your accounts, the details must be given to you. You already hold a case against the CAs for violating the cease and desist law as per the fdcpa.

Hi antonette

I am concerned if you would like to take any actions against your family member for doing this fraudulent activity. Dispute this unknown item with the credit bureau and get in touch with the company as well. Explain the problem with your proof in hand. I hope that the company will mark this account as 'disputed' in your file.

Default fraudently activity

After extenstive and continuing research on fraudently activity on my credit reports. It has come to my attention that a family member is using my accounts to cover his accounts, (that are no way related to FINGERHUT) as though though they were mine.including FINGERHUT. as stated earlier. I'am now in the process of taking care of fraudently activity against me..Thank you for your advice.

Hi antonette

I guess you will be cautious on this matter as a family member is involved in it. It will be good to file a complaint with the local sheriff and send a copy to the credit bureau. You should also notify your creditors with proof of your identity and inform that you don't have any relation with this newly opened account. I hope things are taken care off properly.

Possible, if the creditor has mentioned in the contract that further collections by any agency will be allowed to charge interests and fees incurred during collections. The company must charge the fees within the state laws. They should not go beyond the charges set as per your state laws.

Default fingerhut credit advantage

Fingerhut account numbers that begin with 80..etc have been bought out by Credit Advantage. The only number I have is 800-755-9333 ext 5150. If that doesn't work, I was just given this address to write them to remove their records from the 3 credit bureaus: Credit Advantage, POB 7999, St Cloud MN 56302. Hope this helps...
