to file a complaint about an attorney go to: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calba...=10179&id=1144

To apply for the Client Security Fund, go to: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calba...=10489&id=1379

It kinda suck because the Complaint process just seems like a waste of time since he has already resigned and can not be punished by the Bar. However, you have to do this before you can file with the CSF. My suggestion, have the CSF ready to go so that you can stick it in the mail the very same day you get your response from the Bar regarding your Complaint. Good luck.

...and that's just for those of us who post on this site. Can you imagine how many more are out there? I hope they all find this site, one way or another. If not, I hope they all find a resolution of some sort.

Troy Hall, shame on you!!! I hope you do jail time for this!

Got my statement letter today. My favorite part was "If you are owed a refund, please contact the client security fund." Like it's completely cool to run with all our money. The State Bar may not punish him, but I'll bet after the state pays back all the "refunds" from the client security fund, he's gonna get sued by the state for the same amount + expenses + interest. He'll lose his house, all assets, etc. All I have to say is thank you internet!! Without this, I wouldn't have had a clue where to start. If I hear anything, I'll post.

Anyone been to the State Bar website lately? Hall's address is no longer listed as CP's, it's now the home address on Chateny Lane. Huh, that's funny, my records show that he moved from that address on 12/7/2004.

Heather-

I am thinking you have records of ownership. If that's the case, then he planned it, and put the house into someone else's name. I know my Dad did that during his last divorce. This is gonna get better.

A guy named Darren Rysedorph is now listed as the legal owner. He bought the house on 12/7/04, which is funny, because if Hall put in a change of address order w/ the USPS, they only hold onto those for 12mos. and CP went belly up on 12/5/05. Oh, BTW, I too finally got the other letter from CP, the one with the accounting statement on the bottom. I love the blurb at the bottom “Troy Hall is no longer a licensed attorney and cannot offer legal advice.” HA HA HA, like any of us would call his ass up and say “so how do I go about getting my F-ing money back from your sorry thieving (soon to broke) ass?”

Heather-I might be able to swing by there sometime this week to knock on his door. Just to see if Troy lives there or not. I have friends down that way, so sometime or another I'll swing by and say "HI!".

On another note, the state bar website says that he is pending charges. That to me means they are going after his ass.

Ryno- If you do, don't forget to take your camera so that you can e-mail a picture of the look on his face when you tell him who you are!!! You know what they say. . .that would be the funniest damn 1000 words

For him that might be a "first you say it, then you do it" kinda moment.

OMG! You guys are cracking me up!

But I have to agree with you. This looks like he's known for quite some time that he was going to collect our mullah and take off with it (probably to the Caribbean or some off the map tropical island (hopefully somewhere where they still practice cannibalism). If the timelines are correct and the state has proof of his conduct, he's is going to be in so much s**t. Oooo! I can't wait to see how this part turns out! <insert evil laugh> What a crooked jerk he is (even worse than we all might have thought)!

I know Troy Hall did not refund me $6,700 and told me to apply for a refund from the state Bar.

A sad welcome to the "Troy Hall Rip-Off Club".

Heather, here is another $6,700 to add to the ever growing tally.

OK, so that puts the tab at about $108K.

This is how I am picturing the scenario. State Bar refunds all of us all of our money. They go after the SOB and get the $$$ back. He's poor and his wife can't hang so she up and leaves him for her true love, you know the guy who is really the father of their child. . . . (dramatic pause). . . . Dan Kodam!!! Ok, so maybe I like the Soap Operas a little too much, but it's a nice [comforting] little daydream. (sigh)

It looks like you might be until you get that last letter from Credit Partnership. You can fill out the Complaint/CSF Application and back it up w/ any and all bank statements showing payments to CP. According to them the State Bar is aware of how much each of us are owed. However, if you have not received it yet, you should be getting a letter from CP soon that shows the same information that is (or was) on the "Client Statement" page of their website. Good luck.
