Personal Credit Services - Is it a scam?

Personal Credit Services is not a lender but they only assist you in choosing the right lenders who might be willing to lend you money based on the credit score that you have.

Personal Credit Services has not been well spoken of in the Debt Consolidation Care Community. Consumers have put forward a lot of complaints against this company and have also accused the company of tricking them off their money.

What community members say about Personal Credit Services?

Consumers are skeptical about how this company works. With only an e-mail id and no live person to contact, consumers feel it is just another scam. Besides, there are also many who have worked with them but found them to be an extremely unprofessional company. Several members as well as guests in this community have dealt with Personal Credit Services, and here is what they have to say:

  • Lack of proper service: They charge customers for their services but do not provide assistance after they have received the money. They also do not provide any outstanding service for which consumers might be willing to pay them.
  • Failure to refund for no service: There is no system of refund if Personal Credit Services cannot offer any kind of help. They keep the money even if they have not been of any assistance.
  • Absence of any contact number: The company has no number on which to contact them and can be contacted only through e-mails.
  • No offline presence: Consumers are apprehensive about working with Personal Credit Services because they have no offline presence.
  • General list of creditors: Borrowers, after application, receive only a list of lenders who have already rejected their loan applications made earlier.
  • Complaints with BBB: The BBB has about 23 listed complaints against Personal Credit and consumers' have listed Personal Credit as a scam.
  • Illegal operation: Personal Credit Services is listed as an 'advance fee broker' in BBB and advance fee loans are illegal in the US.
  • Failure to respond to query: Personal Credit Services does not respond to queries regarding their Chamber of Commerce Membership.
  • Failure to negotiate with lenders: They do not negotiate with lenders to get their consumers' loans approved.

Personal Credit Services operate in all states except in North Dakota and West Virginia.

Whoever is thinking of working with them must go through their privacy policy to understand their working better.

I can't seem to find anything reputable on Personal Credit Services; this likely means that they are yet another of the thousands of "credit" companies trying to scam money out of people.
Are they harassing you for debt that you didn't accumulate? If so, dont' send Personal Credit Services money unless they can validate it in writing!

Personal Credit Services is a loan company but they are requesting money from me and then they will send me a list of loan companies that will help me get a loan. They requested $125.00 and I checked the BBB website and they are registered but I'm still skeptical about sending them this money because I don't know of anyone that has actually dealt with Personal Credit Services.

Is it like a payday loan? I wouldn't trust getting a loan from anyone other than your bank...mainly because these outside companies charge very high interest, have hidden fees, and eventually become more of a pain than it's worth. If you can avoid it, please try to do so!

No it's not a payday loan company and Personal Credit Services did tell me upfront that the interest rate may be about 14% due to my credit history. I have tried to get a loan through my bank but have been unsuccessful because my credit history is bad. Do you know of any places besides payday loan companies that I will be able to obtain a loan with a bad credit history?

It's hard to tell what loan companies are legit and which ones are scammers. If the people you have spoken to in this case have been helpful, friendly, and within the US, you can give it a shot. Just remember that you're walking on glass with loan companies...read ANY contracts they give you. Ask them questions, be suspicious. If there is any chance of the interest going up, don't do it. Just make sure you have all of the details. If they still seem ok, go ahead and get a loan with them. But only take what you are able to pay back!

Hi MSCLOUD,
If you decide to apply with this company, would you please let me know how it goes? I am also looking for a legitimate loan company. Thanks very much.

I would be very skeptical of Personal Credit Services. They have an unsatisfactory record with the BBB. As Lindsey said, carefully look over the documents received. Make sure they are legal documents. Another thing to question, is the fact that they do not provide loans in North Dakota. Please be very careful when dealing with loan companies. What is the 125.oo fee for?

I was told that the $125.00 fee is a fee that is paid so that they can provide you with a list of companies that will gurantee you approval of the loan that you apply for. I have not paid them any money I've been doing a lot of research on them and I continue to flood them with e-mail questions and they have been pretty quick about responding to all of my questions. I'm still researching but if I do decide to go with this company then I will post the experience I had with them.

That does sound a bit far-fetched though. After all the scams that are out there, I am skeptical of everything that I hear. I wish you luck if you do decide to go through with it.

My bank shows (because I used my visa debit card) the fee has taken place but then only thing i have gotten so far is a letter saying thank you and that I should recieve an email pretty soon usually within 24 hrs.
