|
|
As I have posted here in the past few days, I signed with T&C and closed my bank account. Everything will "hit the fan" (so to speak) Friday, May 12th. I assume then the PDL's and creditors will start calling me when they don't get their payments. My question is what should I say when they call? Should I return their calls? They cannot keep calling me at work can they? Should I refer them back to T&C? Thanks for any advice.

Lorri,
your timing could be absolutely perfect. I'm assuming the 12th is your official pdl default date? Well, it takes a few days for them to figure out you defaulted (usually..I actually had one take over a week) and by then things could very well be rolling with T&C. To prevent them from calling you might want to contact THEM..For me an email worked best, since I refuse to talk pdl business on the phone. If you keep them up to speed on the situation you'll find they are a lot nicer and much easier to deal with. And..If they know what's up there's absolutely no reason for them to call you.

yes, you can send them the famous letter asking that all contact be made via mail or email only.
Which compaies are you working with?

Most companies will honor that letter to the tee but I have one that actually called me after I sent it and said they didn't have to honor it because they are the original creditor.

I am dealing with United Cash, Payday Ok,
InstCashloan-till-payday, CashCentral and CashNetUSA. I have seen some the posts regarding the letter would it be possible for someone to PM it to me or is it one that I write myself?

I didn't even mention my four credit cards, but for some reason I seem to see them as a little more credible and might follow the "rules" more (I could be delusional, too!!)

Hi Lorri
Write the letter in a very simple language explaining the steps taken to resolve the debt issues. Mention that you will be sending your payments on such date through your consolidation company. During this time, any correspondence should be done with the consultant and you should not be called regarding this matter.
Get the updates from your consultant and insist on sending the monthly statements to you. This way you will be sure of the companies receiving money from you through the program.

Thank you very much curlycarl. I haven't finalized a payment date yet with T&C, but I should wait shouldn't I then to send the letters. Then I should refer any calls to the person I am working with at T&C? I could handle the calls at home, but at work is another matter. I can't have calls there anyway, but I just don't want everyone to know my business.

is there a template for this letter that stops the calls? I want to make sure the wording is correct before I send one out.
