I'm not sure if it's been put out there already but I just found out that Discover Card is not participating in any consolidation programs at this time. I was advised it would be 45-60 days before they would be considered again. Just for info!

I am ashamed to say I did not have a good job and never paid my debt to Discover, now more than 5& 1/2 years late some Credit service wants to make a deal for the amount. Anyone knows what is the Statute of Limitations for the state of Massachusetts ?

Hi Anna
The statute of limitations in Massachusetts is 6 years on oral as well as written contracts. When did your account show last activity? If it is 5 and 1/2 years, the SOL is about to expire.
But paying off the debt will be always better. Since your credit file is already tarnished, you can try to repair the bad credit by paying it through the consolidation programs. This will ease your monthly payments.

I joined a debt consolidation program and Discover card is involved. I just joined a month ago and just gave Discover card the dc company's phone number this week. Citibank was the only card that would not agree to the proposal. hmmmmmm
