This shows as an inquiry in my credit report with Equifax last june. Anyone have any ideas who this may have been?

Hi Clay
I wonder if the bureaus have spelt the company correctly!!! Do you think this entry to be correct? I have a doubt. I will like to dispute this particular item with the bureau. If they find it correct, they should be able to give the address details of the company also so that you can contact them further.

no, I don't think its correct. Can you dispute inquiries?? I tried to call the number listed and it is disconnected. The address listed is not too far from me.. maybe I should drop by and see why these people are and why they are pulling my credit Reports.

Hmmmm...that looks familiar to me. Is it only with Equifax?? Is it possible that you pullled your own credit last June through some free agency? In the past, I have pulled through a free trial, or through freecreditreport dot com and something like that showed up. Is it a hard or soft inquiry? What is the address? Sorry for all the questions, but I like to investigate when I can!

Oh, and I forgot to add - you can definitely dispute inquiries. As long as it is with Equifax or Transunion. Experian is IMPOSSIBLE to work with most of the time. They will not remove inquiries, or incorrect personal information. They wouldn't even remove an incorrect social security number from my report! I am now considering filing a complaint against them because of this.

I'm having issues with them too, with that 12909 Holborne Avenue Cleveland, OH address that I posted about a few months back...I've NEVER lived in Cleveland...

Disputing the inquiries with the credit bureaus is pointless. Like I said in the other thread, you should get in touch with the company directly and ask for the details. If they are unable to verify it, the item must be removed from your file. Bureaus don't have anything to do unless the companies notify them to change the existing records.
