That's a noble idea ch. It's true that many are there who want to help Katrina victims, but not sure if the aid will reach to them at all. We should donate through a secured source and I think American Red Cross is a good place where you can donate. You can visit them at redcross.org

I donated to the Humane Society of GA. They were the only ones helping the ANIMAL victims of Katrina, as I far as I know...poor creatures...

The Red Cross is the best, and safest, org. to donate to. That way, you know where your money is going and that it IS going to those people. Watch for scams...sadly, some people like to try and capitalize on disastors like this. Rolling Eyes

We will donate the whole money collected in Debt Samaritan Club to Red Cross by the end of this month. You can also donate your points to the club. I wish money could do everything but sad it doesn't make everything happen. Money can give some support to the family who suffered major losses. May God help everyone.

Please keep in mind that we don't all have to wait for a natural disastor in order to donate! YOu can make a donation at any time; they are always needed! If we donate enough, there won't be an emergency for donations at the time of such a disastor! I try to donate $200 each to three organizations every year. For me this year, it was PETA, a women's domestic violence support group and a Native American charity. Nothing feels better than giving to those in need!

I try to help students who are in need of money as I feel I can reach to many with the same theme through a kid.

The kid goes out to colleges, offices, churches, communities and tries to help others. I know some organization specially working among students and struggling for funds, I pray and help them as much as I can.

Thanks

After Katrina, there have been a couple of hurricanes. So the requirement of basic essentials is more.
